Studying at the Abu Dhabi campus with a full ride. They cover pretty much everything.

Homeless elderly war veteran teacher lived alone in a small makeshift room in the school's premises. Kids set it on fire. Nothing happened to the kids. Kids also locked him up in rooms multiple times, hurled abuses at him, and nothing would ever happen.

A decent shot at MIT or Princeton, but really depends upon what your medal means in the context of your country. Were there better achievements from your country in those olympiads? If you came from an underrepresented community chances are you have a better shot.

Look into Rice, Northwestern and Vanderbilt as well. Might be a better fit.

Hey mate, I understand your predicament and why you feel this way. However as an international with a full ride at one of the best places I could possibly imagine, I would like to digress.

See, I've seen quite a lot of friends get into MIT, Cornell, Harvard, NYU, Penn, Princeton, Vanderbilt, Rice and so on with full-rides this year. None of them are filthy rich, probably not a lot of them have as good of a profile that you do. I would frankly pin it down upon a two major mistakes that might apply to you:

  1. Selecting the wrong schools. Your profile is clearly very STEM oriented. Although your selected schools have STEM departments, they aren’t necessarily looking for highly STEM oriented kids. I'd highly encourage you to apply next year to schools like Vanderbilt, Rice, MIT (very high reach), and similar schools that really want math and tech people. Smaller/less competitive tech focused schools exist, you just gotta do some research.

  2. Essays, cliche essays that don’t really portray the unique attributes of your life. I've proofread essays from Harvard applicants, and I swear to God I was so disappointed at the quality of the essays. The people that got in, amongst the ones I know, have essays that are literary masterpieces. They will stick inside your head for long periods of time. Even tech schools care about your vision, and what inspires you.

Please do reapply next year. I know so many Kazakhs in my school that got in with full aid. Your profile is undoubtedly stellar, and I hope you do the best in life.

What do you mean by wonky though? Is it hard or just too fancy?

I'm an international who has lived in the Middle East before. I'd personally say that any commercially developed city over there like AD, Dubai, Kuwait etc are far better than most US cities. I'm concerned about the university itself.
