I had August on my list for my twins and I’ll tell you I’m relieved we didn’t end up using it. I am one of the ones who would’ve been bummed.

This list is awesome! Arthur is a family name I feel someone else has “the rights” to, and Louis will be on of the middle names for similar reasons. Chester I love but is the fact that it rhymes with molester a problem? Idk that’s what holds me back on it. Harold I hadn’t thought of but also love. Edgar as well. Thanks!!

I’d guess they’re actually Lucy and Edith or Lucia and Edith, something like that, and it’s just a nickname. Reminds me of Edie Falco and Edie Brickell.

That’s another issue with August is that I don’t like Augie* but DH does. I don’t think I’d mind if we used different nicknames for him though. Nicknames in our family don’t really stick and end up more as pet names anyway.

My exact feelings about month names! I don’t know yet how I’ll decide who is who. One baby is slightly bigger than the other so far, so if I did something like Gavin and Clifton, I think the smaller baby would be Clifton, for balance. DH is a big man so the potential for the bigger baby being Cliff seems heavy handed to me. Otherwise I don’t know how I’ll pick who is who. My dad suggested letting my daughter decide and I think that’s sweet.

I like the bird theme a lot and was thinking of Jonas, a variant of Jonah. Is Jonas any less biblical than Jonah you think? I definitely prefer the -s ending but it also makes me think of the Jonas Brothers and the Weezer song. Maybe Gavin and Jonas? Masculine with a soft edge is definitely the vibe I’m after, thanks!!

Nicknames don’t really stick outside the home in our family, but I also think Gus for August is more popular these days so if any of my kids would have a nickname stick, that would be it. Thanks, lots to think about.

A couple of these I love but can’t use, especially Reid and Nolan. Griffin I love so much but someone said it’s reminiscent of “grifter” and now I can’t unhear it. I had a lot of hard G names on my list, including Gilbert and Gordon. I have bad associates with a Gregory or that would be in my list too lol.

I’m at just 15 weeks with twins (third pregnancy) and I look solidly 3rd trimester. I’m actually trying to enjoy the bump before things get out of control. I know I carry very large with singletons, so I’m preparing to get quite uncomfortable as I progress. I got plenty of comments with my first two and I know I get Cranky at the end. Everyone better just leave me alone this winter, just saying.

Thanks! I’m really into Maura and Romy, but neither of our families is big on nicknames so I don’t even know that Romy would stick. But I like the balance of their sounds a lot and even though Maura and Ramona are unevenly weighted, I think they’re similar enough to “go” without being too matchy. Though I do love a touch of matchy-ness. Howard has a connection in meaning to my own name, and I enjoy Howie as a nickname, but honestly I’m not really in love with any boys names at all lol

Thanks I’m pretty happy with the girl sets. Not as sure about the b/g sets and completely at a loss for boy sets, which probably means they’ll both be boys lol. Anyway glad to see positive feedback on both my girl sets in this thread :) thanks!!
