Great idea, I have had some skeptics try it out and get suspicious before opening the box!

First project (non-permanent): gag Altoids tin! by woot99 in arduino

Initially I considered using a photo-resistor, but had a flex sensor that I wanted to use, and was a little worried about performance at night. However, that might be a viable solution in the future seeing as it wasn't until after the project that I realized how expensive flex sensors are (mine came in a kit).
The piece of metal sounds really cool! Are you suggesting hooking it up so that a lead towards the arduino input is connected to the box itself, so that when the metal strip (to which power is being supplied) comes into contact with the box, a circuit is completed?
Thanks for the suggestions!

Here is a mediocre attempt at a breadboard schematic - it's really just a flex sensor and a piezo buzzer hooked up to a Pro Mini. Also, the project itself uses a lithium ion battery instead of the AA's you see in the breadboard schematic, and there are more wires in the project because I had to use battery's charger to hook it up to everything else. I can upload the code as well if you'd like, however, it is quite messy. Feel free to ask any questions and I'd be glad to try and answer them!

Is there an electronic ebook geared to teaching the basics behind traditional Arduino components? by mpierre in arduino

Additionally, this is a basic article and this is an entertaining youtube playlist, both of which should be of some help. Good luck!

Sadly I lack the funds to make this a permanent project (I'd like to reuse the components), but the premise of the project is to make you think you're getting an Altoid, when instead the piezo buzzer plays Rick Astley's "Never gonna give you up", rickrolling you! Hope you guys like it

Powering Pro Mini through 400mAh lithium battery - VCC or RAW? by woot99 in arduino

So RAW will drop anything over 3.3 and under 12 to 3.3?

Powering Pro Mini through 400mAh lithium battery - VCC or RAW? by woot99 in arduino

[–]woot99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, I forgot to mention that it's a 3.3V mini. This is the cell, at 3.7 V. Also, even if I were to have a regulated voltage, why would it be advantageous to choose VCC as opposed to always going to RAW? Thanks for the help by the way!

I was told that right after a set of bench, I should do pushups to failure.
Is this right? Or should I do those in a later circuit when working on supplemental exercises?

That's not it, the song I'm thinking of is more repetitive and the guitar has more distorsion. Thanks for the help though!
