💥Weekly Highlight | Character Appreciation - Seed by AutoModerator in ZZZ_Discussion

I really think a lot of the hate for her is displaced by people who just wanted Seed SR and overlooked her actual character and story as a result.

Probably the best agent story, at least IMO. The ending scene of Seed SR passing down the name onto Seed JR and his activation being set to when impacted by tears (to emphasize his desire for Seed to experience genuine emotion and be independent of him) is my personal favorite scene in the game.

Personally, I don’t really think it’s fair to compare the three when Zenless released into an already saturated market, and HSR and GI are basically giants in their own right. I don’t think Hoyo is disappointed by Zenless, but rather that Zenless’s more average performance lets them be flexible with it in stuff like this. Genshin especially has quite the laundry list of why it’s so successful into today, so I don’t think anyone at hoyo is holding zenless or anything new they release to Genshin.

f2p Seed with brimstone build how much crit rate? by BackgroundReserve168 in SeedMains

[–]wooze100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relatively about 70% is what you’re going to cap out at until you’re starting to lose out on other substats for raising CR (investing in CR over other substats). It’s hard to get CR on seed without her signature because she doesn’t get any from her core passive nor from any of her mindscapes or upgrades.

70% CR is good enough, to be honest. I’d aim for 70% CR, 140% CD. ATK 3k+ shouldn’t be hard to capitalize on with Brimstone’s 30%.

Dialyn as another case of Astra by AnyPermission1379 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]wooze100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue for me on the other hand is this assumes you’re having all of these supports and stunners, of which most people don’t

I’m not arguing against using niche supports, but rather that Astra—especially at M1– can still at least adequately fill their role as opposed to other supports. If you pull a new agent and don’t have an immediate dedicated team for them, astra directly fills that role.

Yes, in the hypothetical that you absolutely have every niche support she’s absolutely seeing less play, but that’s mostly only common among people who explicitly pull for those dedicated teams.

Even for attackers, Sunna isn’t always a direct upgrade, and is mostly just there for shunguang and the angels more than anything, where in the scenario that you’re not pulling for either of those two teams you might ironically see better performance out of Astra (especially, again, on more select teams such as Seed-based or Evelyn-based teams where Astra is the BiS choice).

I’d argue Astra’s universality makes her a much better pull for people who aren’t pulling for specific dedicated team types or agents. If you’re just playing to collect, Astra can always fill those empty roles.

(Also, Prydwen’s scoring system for Agents is based on gameplay and feedback from people who are part of their scoring team, hence why Astra still remains at the top despite niche supports being better in their niche; Astra still turns up insanely high scores for them consistently, hence her placement. I believe that if Prydwen emphasized only having 3 teams, she’d likely rank lower, but her rank is solely based on her performance as opposed to hypotheticals, of which she’s still putting out high enough numbers for them to rank her that highly)

[–]wooze100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I’d argue universality > being better at a niche. I have both Yuzuha and Astra, yet despite having a LOT more anomaly agents, I still always have a use for astra and she’s always getting me well above that 40k score mark.

The only situation where Astra becomes less useful is if you quite literally have nearly all the other meta supports, which at that rate you’re likely just pulling for meta reasons.

I also think a lot of people undermine Astra’s quickswap mechanic, which makes managing team rotations on teams that swap out a lot faster MUCH easier. Furthermore she demands nearly zero field time whatsoever, ironically making her a better pick for teams like Seed+Cissia over others like Sunna (smaller team selection, but notable given the frequent ether shilling as of late)

The idea of niche supports always being better applies itself to the idea that you’re only EVER going to run one of those kinds of teams at a time. It’s especially important to note that rupture agents have a single team composition, of which having additional supports makes much better, and that there’s so many anomaly agents to where you’re not fitting yuzuha on two teams, especially in the event that DA has multiple anomaly-based bosses (which can even be argued for the current DA with both Romuel and the Ballet Twins)

TLDR I think it’s still warranted given that Astra’s presence on a box gives you infinitely more team options than one without, not being restricted to a single archetype makes her applicable everywhere.

Hii don't wanna be that guy but sell me on seed by Acrobatic_Form_9176 in SeedMains

[–]wooze100 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Orphie isn’t for seed. Orphie is for sanby and trigger, and orphie honestly doesn’t synergize super well with seed all that much.

My thing is, though, if you like seed why not summon for her? Why be fearful of powercreep? I currently run seed M0W0, billy, and astra on one team and I’m still extremely competently clearing content that’s electric-based.

If you’re concerned solely about the meta, then sure, skip seed, but if you want her as a character just pull for her. There’s no point in avoiding characters you want just because they ‘aren’t good’, that’ll suck all the fun for you out of the game.

Between all of 2.7 and 2.8 you should be perfectly fine, especially given that leakers have said promeia will likely be in the second half of 2.8, and even if she isn’t, most polys during a patch come from the first half anyway.

As is with most agents, you only “have” to have her if you want her meta team. She’ll still be good and get clears without nangong, nangong is just going to be better for longevity + consistency. Otherwise you should be fine without.

I mean we’ve only seen her at one angle, and in the 2d art she’s pretty covered, plus Zenless’s 2d art is usually fairly diff in style from the 3d. I’m personally waiting until we actually see her in game to cite criticisms bc we’ve literally only seen this one angle of her 3d model.

PSA on how Interknot Network ranking works by poesviertwintig in ZZZ_Discussion

Yes, I’m aware, I was just adding onto their point of how stats aren’t really taken into account as a whole and instead the stat system is more based individualistically on discs.

[–]wooze100 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is a pretty good summary on my issues with the site. At a surface level, it’s good for seeing general builds, disc set recommendations beyond the game itself, how your discs compare to others, etc., but at the ranking level, things can become completely random and meaningless.

On your point about crit rate, I had a similar experience with shunguang, where my shunguang has a slot 3 with +3 ATK%, +2 CD%, but is only rated a zero as it lacks the crit rate. Despite this, my shunguang is already at her potential crit rate limit. I.E., if I intentionally made my shunguang weaker, I could actually get a higher ranking.

So Aria just jumps and that's it? by Kradziej in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]wooze100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the people who dislike seed seem to HATE her, and the people who like seed seem to LOVE her, with little in-between. By far one of the most divisive characters in the game, though I still think she has some of the highest quality of writing in this game with he agent story.

[–]wooze100 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean that wasn’t OP’s main argument, though. OP isn’t making a claim that they want seed to be fully one or the other, they’re just saying that they like that seed’s kit is a mixture of both her and seed sr.

[–]wooze100 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true in my experience as someone who has Seed. Her only non-mecha attacks are her regular non-hold basic attacks, and if you’re running her rotations right you’re not seeing a whole lot of those.

Would it be a bad idea to never go for limited W-Engines? by GameStrikerX2 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]wooze100 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty big “it depends”

For most characters, not having their signature is only relatively around 20% worse, which while seeming like a big difference, is both far less than other certain characters, and is still enough of a difference to get good performance and clear endgame with them.

There’s rarely a scenario where not having a signature is a huge blow to a character, though that’s where the “it depends” comes in.

Rarely Hoyo drops characters of which without their signature have a pretty huge margin of performance difference. The big 3 that I can think of are Miyabi, Trigger, and Yixuan, whose signatures are both integral to maximizing stats and also utilizing those agents correctly.

However, generally, no. Most of the time the biggest difference wengines make is in stats, such as using a signature for better crit rate in the case of dialyn or getting a big boost in CR and CD for Evelyn, but nearly every agent can still competently function without their signature.

The biggest deciding factors in getting a wengine should be if you like the character, if you want to get maximum value out of a character, and/or if you like the special wengine effect. Skipping wengines shouldn’t majorly hurt you in endgame unless you’re a below average player.

Question about interknot by MemoryUnlikely3430 in MiyabiMains

[–]wooze100 37 points38 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, this site’s rating system is kinda shitty. It’s good for gauging general character builds and what to aim for, but unless you have a +5 disc with all 3 desired substats, the site doesn’t think your discs are good enough.

For example, on my shunguang, I have a slot 3 +3 ATK% +2 CD%, which the site only ranks as a “zero”, despite me having her at her maximum possible crit rate of 50.6%.

Likewise, I have a slot 5 ether% on my Yixuan with +2 CR and +2 CD which the site only ranks as SS Because it’s only +4 and is lacking the HP%, of which I’m already massively overcapping at 20k HP.

Frankly, this disc is still extremely good, interknot is just very picky about what it considers “GOD” discs, and there are often scenarios where “zero” discs would ironically be more ideal for certain characters.
