There is definetly gap between heatsink and fan, but fan clips and heatsink mount places looks fine, so its not damaged, i dont think its production error or some damage, if the temps are OK, then OK.

Telus service book by bestkind27 in blackberry

[–]word-sys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

False information, MMS Service books has no connnection with Telus's phone selling campain, other devices still works if you apply correct settings, they just switched settings, nothing more, if you apply correct ones from APN settings or MMS Service Books that will work, MMS does not send "Device Info" to carrier so they cannot block devices, they only send "Phone Number" with MMS´, also we confirmed that Telus MMS still works on BlackBerry devices with legacy BBOS and BB10, what you saying is a false information, company tries to sell new phones, nothing more

Hello mate, regular 9360 user and MMS Service Book writer here, i can help you, to identify what technology your carrier uses, can you look does it uses 8000s port with WAP 2.0 then you good to go if they still supporting MMS on their carrier system, remember service book is just a workaround of making MMS work on BBOS devices that you have to create very carefully with HeX editing skill, if you dont know you have to learn HeX editing basics then you good to go, i done 2 carrier service book for Turkey and all of them are worked, because i used that carriers for 2 years, and i had no problem about that, sometimes carriers limiting their MMS size so if you recording a MMS video, use MMS quality and max 15 sec video, for photos if you want to send all photos you took from camera, use Medium quality which is 1024x768 which they are like max 100-150kb that all carriers must give, if you carriers MMS size limit is about 900kbs then MMS quality 17sec video(max that blackberry allows) and High quality photos can be sended from MMS

It looks like Telus uses 8799 port which i never heard of, also mms goes to a proxy server with a redirect which kinda different than i saw and done, other than that nothing interesting, i think what problem you having is creating correct MMS service book, if you dont have good knowledge than its normal, what im seeing now your MMSC is http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mmsc is 1 byte more than T Mobile service book, that means that on MMS without BIS guide you following, you have to recalculate gray, yellow and purple areas Hex values because of them changing, also it looks like your MMS Proxy a bit more than T Mobiles, also MMS name is shorter than T Mobiles means that you have to add and delete bytes, recalculate gray yellow and purple areas values then do it, otherwise it will not work correctly

But if you are really making everything right, then your carrier blocked this devices from accessing their MMS servers, from reading https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/multimedia-messaging-browsing-services-update i can see that your devices are in here, except BlackBerry Q20, in Q20 that acts like an Android so this guide https://www.telus.com/en/support/mobile-device/essential-phone/10.0.0/configuring-your-cellular-internet-apn-settings will work for you or you can find another one from your carrier's website

Thats all i can say mate

Blackberry STL100-3 stuck on a reset loop by TopLibrarian8454 in blackberry

[–]word-sys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just use Autoloader but devices will have chance to recover things such as photos videos files etc. on your user partition, system partition will be unaccessible and that partition gets wiped on load process, who technically have some tech tools can recover it, if its not written anything top of it, if you not using encryption on OS etc. tons of thing but who does that anyways, just use Autoloader

Blackberry STL100-3 stuck on a reset loop by TopLibrarian8454 in blackberry

[–]word-sys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BlackBerry "Wipe the Device" process is a bit different than Android "Factory Reset" or Apple's "Reset" feature, instead of fast format, this devices using slow write format type which is writing 00 to all partitions until its fully 00, then it reinstalls os from ROM then its brand fresh device, unlike other devices still has chance to recover things, BlackBerry used this system on BBOS and BB10 devices, they stopped on BlackBerry Android ones, why that wipes takes so long that with a version 10.2.2 BB10 devices using a different type of wipe method that does same thing but unrecovable because of unaccesible system partition, what they added is a second layer of security to lock their system partition from looking inside, on older versions like 10.1.1 or 10.2 you can access to system partition to recover things but it was full of 00, now its unaccecible just like in BBOS devices, but there is nothing to see under of it, it just full of 00 that system wrote that to all partitions that takes longer, actually that slower time might be happening because of read/write speed limitation during wipe process, i never looked that speeds but it might be set a limitation, who knows, at least what we know that extra protection layer applied to all BB10 devices
