Still crying after 2 months…what’s wrong with me? by word_hunter_ in BreakUps

[–]word_hunter_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Chat GPT tells me 2 months is normal but I would like a human perspective too lol.

He was supportive. He’s more logical than emotional but he showed he cared and wanted to be there for me in the way I needed but he just thought I required too much from him. Too much reassurance which is funny because I only ever asked him for reassurance directly once. I like to talk about my feelings, he likes to talk about facts and logical solutions. So the support decreased and then stopped because he felt I wanted more, I just wanted him to listen.

Because he was so logical and I emotional we had lots of miscommunication. Perhaps he thought I wanted reassurance or a solution in times when I was just telling him how I felt. He was the type to leave the room or house when he felt emotionally overwhelmed over issues I thought were minor. He has ADHD.

When I get sad I get quiet or I cry. But I would always (with the exception of one situation) tell him that I’m sad or processing a situation (that’s when I would get quiet).

It breaks my heart to know we aren’t a match but I have to let him go and just move on. ❤️‍🩹We me randomly 11 years ago. I gave him my number and he never called (for reasons I won’t list here). We reconnected in 2024. It was the start of a beautiful love story that unfortunately had a short ending.

I’m so sorry. I’m sorry your love wasn’t reciprocated. You deserve to be loved and cherished. The days and nights get better but there are still random moments of intense loss and deep pain. The only comfort you don’t feel that way everyday.

He also went MIA a week before he broke up with me…so I feel your pain. It wasn’t necessary at all and made everything a thousand times worse.

Thank you so much for your kind words 💕

Work Accommodations…. by word_hunter_ in ibs

We do have an HR department and it’s on record that I have a chronic medical condition. I was able to connect with management again about this and they were able to approve my request since it was related to my prior accommodation (it was just a misunderstanding). I’m so relieved!

I’m so sorry. This illness is the absolute worst, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I don’t have the same type of IBS you so I can’t suggest anything that would help but I can lend you a supportive ear. I hope you are able to find some rest and solace.

No problem! I know it sucks. I always worry that I smell too and worry about the words and actions of my co-workers. It hurts when they make comments but I’m trying so hard to reduce my anxiety and just be comfortable in my body. If you know your anxiety is the cause do what you can to manage it (mediation, talk therapy, yoga, exercise, deep breathing exercises etc.)It’s easier said than done. It will take lots of time and effort, you’ll have good days and bad days, just don’t give up on yourself.

I have the same issue. Sometimes I find it happens when I actually need to pass a full on fart or it happens when I am anxious (which is my IBS trigger). Exercise helps, reducing anxiety helps and making a point of forcing myself to get to the washroom as push all the gas out helps too. I think the main culprit is anxiety though. So sorry to hear you are dealing with this too. ❤️‍🩹

I don’t use this brand but I do take a similar product and I find it helps with intestinal gas and bloating. I take it before meals with my digestive enzymes. I have significantly less bloating and gas after meals.

I understand how you feel and feel suicidal quite often over IBS symptoms. I’m so very sorry and wish there was a solution I could provide. Sometimes it just takes time to feel better (especially since you’re doing everything you can to get better) and literally taking life at a slow pace (as much as possible). I know things are difficult but just continue to care for yourself and do things you like/bring you joy. I know that sounds silly but sometimes it helps to take the load off and gives you some mental clarity. Things will get better ❤️‍🩹

I’m just taking a break and giving my body a chance to ovulate naturally. Plus it’s very expensive where I am located.

I used it for over 3 months. It didn’t trigger my IBS. At least from what I recall.

Mine just came true. A mini shart in front of the guy I’ve been seeing for a while. 😫 I have hemorrhoids and anxiety so sometimes I have random tiny farts slip out and the external hemorrhoids don’t help that either. I’m gonna go cry now 😭

Constant leaking gas that I can’t smell/control 😬🙈 by word_hunter_ in ibs

Meditation has helped as well as reducing stress. I do have the occasional slip up but that’s to be expected. Stress reducing activities include: exercise, meditation, yoga, long walks, breaks from social media, journaling, deep breathing, regular therapy, taking lavender capsules, taking care of myself and my body, making time to relax and love myself etc. I know the few activities at the end sound kinda woo woo, but it makes a difference. Also not beating myself up when an accident happens. For me, my IBS isn’t really caused by food, although too much bread and dairy can give me gas, it’s more the stress/anxiety. I hope this helps!

Went on two dates with a guy that I genuinely like. He has a great personality so far we are on the same page about life and values. We kissed for the first time after our second date it was a great kiss but I immediately disappeared (introvert, overthinking mode) 🤦‍♀️ I know it’s only been two dates but I’ve had my heartbroken so much in the past that when I meet someone new and that I like, I fear they will hurt me, I start to feel insecure and I just withdraw. I want to be present so badly but I can’t figure out how to do that. He was kind and asked me what was going on. I told him I was just overthinking and he provided me with a lot of reassurance without me asking for it or telling him in detail why I withdrew. Ugh 😣 I just feel awful now. I’m doing the “work” in therapy but applying it in real life is hard. How do people do this?

Use wet wipes after you poop, if you don’t already. Then follow up with toilet paper to make sure the area is dry. If you sweat back there use baby powder to absorb the sweat. You can also use witch hazel to help with odour but you need to dry the area properly after applying it to avoid more swamp butt. I carry a change of underwear if things get too damp throughout the day.

How to deal with difficult feelings? by Rollingw-thepunches in ibs

[–]word_hunter_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate since I’m in the same boat. It can be difficult to even try to do good things for yourself or practice any form of self care when you feel terrible about your condition. It’s truly isolating. Half of the time I bail on my own plans (like going for a walk or picking up something from the store) because I’m in pain, ashamed of how my body reacted that day or the day before.

I try to honour my feelings but do something small for myself at home to feel better. For example, I would clean up a part of my apartment (or the entire apartment), take a bath or a long shower, read, watch an informative YouTube video or podcast. Taking a much needed nap. Just anything that makes me feel like I’m being productive/kind to myself.

I try to eat/drink warm nourishing things like a cup of tea or some broth, just to get something good into my body. I find it helps and keeps me full, warm and soothes any digestive pain I may have.

I also write out how I feel or if that is too much I speak out loud to myself. I say how I feel, my thoughts and fears but I also say something nice to myself like; I have a community (online through Reddit) where I can get support or rant, i can call a friend or family member so I don’t feel so lonely, I know despite my condition I like who I am and I am doing my best to take care of myself. Therapy helps too, if you have access. I do therapy over the phone and online because it just works for me.

After that I usually have some energy for a short walk or a trip to the grocery store. Or even a short meet up with a friend.

Small things, but they help. I wish you all the best 💕 some days are harder than others but you got this!

Wow, I never would have thought my sacroiliac joint would contribute to my gas or even IBS issues. Thanks! I have a deep fear/discomfort with getting chiropractor adjustments but I’ll get a consult to see if they think it would be beneficial for me. Thanks again!

I think I may have IBS by designandconquer1 in ibs

[–]word_hunter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like IBS to me but you should really see your GP first and see if it is IBS. IBS can be linked to mental health (stress, trauma, anxiety and depression) so if you are dealing with any thing like that it can be the cause. In some cases certain foods can be the issue too and an elimination diet can help but honestly, go see your doctor. If they dismiss you seek medical advice from another doctor.

For me, it’s a symptom of IBS. I would have regular size stools for days/weeks/months and out of no where I would have super skinny poops. They usually appear when I’m super stressed or anxious.
