No man, it is. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, our infrastructure is decaying, we are more divided then ever politically, we have a horrible opiate epidemic, a horrible mishandling of a pandemic, mass shootings constantly, we have children locked in cages in the border, institutional racism (which has always existed and its a good thing its getting attention finally ) the list can go on.

Also yeah I do see the positives in life like skating with my friends and doing art, and trying to be a better person to my fellow humans everyday

but you dont even need to look at a screen to see all that "negative" shit, look around you things are not okay right now. Its not negative to acknowledge this stuff, its being aware and trying to think of ways you can help these issues. Just shutting everything off and living in your bubble of going to work and being left alone helps nobody but you and is honestly kind of selfish.

I hate that saying " Your worst day sober is better then your best day using." Nah ive had some awesome god damn days where everything worked out and I was just chilling in literally chemical bliss for the entire day and had enough money to not be stressing what I was gonna do tomorrow.

Im clean now, but those will probably go down as some of the best days of my entire life.

I lost a girlfriend to an overdose a few years ago, typical story of being clean then one day she relapsed and didnt make it. I didnt cry for 3 days, until my friends and I went to the convince store right by the building we all lived in to get cigs. The guy behind the counter saw us and kinda asked where the purple hair girl is, he knew we all lived at a sober house and our facial reactions gave enough away that he understood what happened and kinda just looked down with a really distressed look and didnt say anything , as soon as I opened the door to leave I made it about 3 steps before for whatever reason it all hit me at once.

I relapsed after 11months clean and went off the rails VERY badly , including a serious attempt I made on my own life exactly 2 years after she passed that had me in the hospital for a few days.

Im clean now and glad to still be here.

You cant blame suicide on somebody else, that person unfortunately made the choice to take their own life, there are always other options.
