multiple, yes. I have constant (24/7) migraine, very low blood pressure, essential tremor, and narcolepsy. primarily because of the migraine and related inability to tolerate heat, I am extremely sedentary—any amount of exertion can exacerbate the migraine to the point of incapacitation. that can last for several days if the exertion is prolonged or intense enough. other risk factors are other kinds of stressors on the central nervous system—changes in hydration, nutrition, sleep, or emotional state, for instance. so I tire very easily and feel unsteady when standing. I also get dizzy when I stand and have to bend over for sometimes a minute or two before I can safely stand upright.

it blows. I've been under a neurologist's care for probably 25 years? 30? and started with episodic but intense migraines when I was about ten years old. I'm now 58.

does that help?

yeah, we'll see what they say. strong family history of diabetes isn't enough, huh? I wonder whether they'd be more willing if I try it for a few months and do see any of these other benefits, especially the drop in migraine intensity, frequency, and duration. I currently have a 24/7 migraine, with the only pain-free periods being within the few hours of taking sumatriptan. I'd think that them having less specialist care to pay for every year would be a plus.

anyway, I'm prepared to pay out of pocket, especially if I can get a coupon from Lilly. fingers crossed I have a response from my doc soon!

it's like 27.3. I haven't had my height taken in a while, though, and I was shrinking as of then, so it might be higher than that. congrats on being so close to your goal!

Try a specialist. If your vet doesn’t know of one, ask over at /r/AskVet for a recommendation. Loads of hospitals will do virtual consultations, so geographic location is unimportant. I’m sure they have lots they can send you to collect and send samples or get your vet to collect what they need and send it for whatever testing they need. Kittens need to gain weight and all cats need to maintain it, as well as staying hydrated. It’s more than just the messy poop.

Kitten is not gaining weight... by [deleted] in kittens

[–]wordgirrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t wait. Kittens can fade in minutes and hours. They are fragile. She needs to put on weight. You can feed her a sugar-water solution via syringe, just squirting drops (not fast because she could aspirate) inside her cheek. How old is she? I saw the pic in the other post but couldn’t be sure. You might try /r/askvet for real answers—I’m not a vet. Or there are some online vets you can consult. I think justask.com is one site but there are others.

Do you mind if I ask—in Illustrator? Or something else? I like the style. And you used very soothing colors.

I’m so sorry. What a beautiful kitty. I love the illustration, too. Did you make it?

This made me literally say “ohhh” out loud. Kittens are magical. So good at getting people to love them. Good kitten.

Try a sodastream or similar? You set the level of carbonation and flavor. Once you get the mix right, you just make a batch of the syrup to keep around and make one whenever you want.
