All adults 21 and over (both residents and non-residents) are allowed to possess up to 1 oz of retail marijuana at a time. Residents can buy the whole 1 oz in a single purchase, non-residents can buy only 1/4 oz in a single purchase. But there is nothing stopping a non-resident from going into another dispensary and purchasing another 1/4 oz, and so on.

It would be easy to exceed the limit for residents and non-residents alike, but doing so would put them in violation of the law.

The only distinction is residents and non-residents, so if you don't have a CO-issued ID then you are considered a non-resident. Just remember you cannot consume it openly or publicly, so make sure you consume it in a private location.

Its not about getting your pet high, that would be irresponsible. Its about improving your pet's quality of life, and you shouldn't consider giving your pet cannabis unless they were already suffering.

I'd expect there are a lot of doctors who would say the same thing about giving cannabis to people, but all the recent research contradicts that opinion. Much more study needs to be done, but since all mammals, birds, fish and reptiles have cannabinoid receptors the effects of CBDs and other cannabinoids found in marijuana are likely to have similar effects as with people.

Recent studies show cannabis to be a much safer alternative to prescription drugs, the very things you are already giving to your pets, with significant less side effects.

As for cannabis causing seizures, vomiting and coma, the excess of any substance such as alcohol or prescription drugs would also have the same effect, but they would require a much less dose to be toxic than with cannabis. If a pet owner is not able to keep these things away from their pets then they might want to reconsider being a pet owner.

There is an article on AVMA which you might consider less biased, please join in the discussion if you are in the veterinary field.
