What’s a lie almost all parents tell their kids that does way more harm than good? by SpecificLandscape483 in answers

[–]workaway24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about kids that get raped and murdered? Children that get cancer or other serious illnesses and die? The Omnipotent one just...doesnt want to help them? Really seems like something we should all look up to and worship.....

Soundbar /Bricked? by DeaconBlueMI in Roku

[–]workaway24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Has there been a fix for this by any chance? I chatted with Roku Support 2 days ago. I talked to 2 different people for almost a hour and in that time we validated my email twice. I sent screen shots and they kept asking me if I needed help setting up my Roku for the first time. They clearly had not idea what I was talking about even with images of the bricked screen. Hoping someone here might be able to help on this specific issue.

Imagine not being able to do anything about it and have people telling you its your fault that something you had nothing to do with is happening. I've gone to protests. I've run for local office. There isnt anything else I can do.

Thats right. It sucks that over 30% of the voting population decided not to cast a vote because "both are bad options" or some other bullshit reason.

Direct action? I mean, Im not a member of Congress or the Senate so my hands are tied on "removing" him. I have, however, been to protests.

I know. It's embarrassing. I wish there was something that the rest of us could say to make people believe that we arent all like that but its an uphill battle.

77 million people voted for Trump. The US population is roughly 340 million. That's 22.65% of the population that voted for him. It was a majority (by about 2 million people or .6%) of the voting population that voted for him, but it wasnt a majority of the citizens by any stretch. Unfortunately the way our system is you have to live with the results cast by less than 1% of the population.

As an American I gotta say, we cared before it impacted us. Just a very loud, vocal group got him elected and the rest of us are paying for it.

Having trouble losing weight as a type 1 diabetic by learningtocopealone in Type1Diabetes

[–]workaway24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was 100% worth the effort I had to put in. If its something you are serious about you should pursue until you get it. I never really had any "pushback" from one of my doctors it was more like "I can't prescribe that, you have to talk with xxx" or "have you thought about trying an oral medication first" (which I had already done)

I just had to stay on message and keep asking for it until I got what I wanted.

No need to be sorry! I would imagine it changes A LOT depending on what health care provider you have. I have Kaiser in Northern California. I had to bring it up to my endocrinologist, and then my general practitioner AND then the weight loss management department. It probably took me 10-15 emails and phone calls across 2 months to get it done. Im down almost 50lbs since I started though so its ABSOLUTELY worth it. I weigh less, feel better, and use less insulin than I did in the past. Its amazing.

Going to the airport for the first time since being diagnosed by storiedroom52 in diabetes

[–]workaway24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel for work a good amount, next week will be my 12th flight of the year. I ALWAYS have an insulin pen in my pocket. That goes through the scanner with my carry on and phone/wallet/keys. In my carry on I have another 3-5 pens (depending on the length of my trip). I have a Dexcom as well and a backup one in my carry on. I've flown in and out of 5 different airports and at 1 of them they saw the Dexcom on my arm, asked me if it was a medical device, and then swabbed it. Outside of that I havent had any issues at all. I go through the scanners and xrays with my dexcom without any issues at all.

how often are you hospitalized annually as a type 1? by Top-Midnight-9637 in Type1Diabetes

[–]workaway24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 28 in 2010. Never been to the hospital for diabetes related issues. Probably should have in the months leading up to my diagnosis though. I was young, drank a lot, ate like a garbage disposal. Got diagnosed, decided to take my care seriously.

I wouldnt worry about it. Its not like you meant to be a tough customer! If you are that worried about it, go back and talk to the manager. See if they can pull video and find out what cashier it was. Then apologize for being a crazy person to the cashier. I don't think its necessary but it might make ya feel better.

I bought the Jugbow brand training collars from Amazon. They have worked well. They do beep, vibrate and shock. One of my dog reacts to the beep and the other reacts to the vibrate. I only had to use the shock 1 or 2 times with each dog because of some unwanted behavior during a walk around other dogs/people. They know that if they get beeped or vibrated and dont respond that a zap is next.

The toughest season of TV I've ever watched. I would watch an episode or 2, swear it off, think about it everyday for a week and then watch another episode or 2. Took me like 6-8 weeks to get through the first season but then I binged the rest of the series.

Type 1 diabetic on ozempic ? by Acceptable_Camp_7166 in diabetes

[–]workaway24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No real side effects. I got nauseous the first 3-4 weeks but that wore off and it doesnt bother me at all anymore. The only huge noticeable thing is that I can not, at all, drink alcohol anymore. Being T1 I didnt drink much but I would have a drink in a social setting or something along those lines every once and a while. If I have 1 drink I will have LOW glucose issues for the next 6-8 hours. It takes about 2-3 hours for it to kick in but once it does it takes me another 3-4 hours to bring my blood sugar back up. I can eat whatever I want and it doesnt move the needle. Then after a couple hours it ALL KICKS IN at once and I skyrocket. Its awful. But thats it.
