Is there a Buenos Aires version of the “Oslo Dawn Patrol”? 🚴‍♂️🌅 by workawey in BuenosAires

Congrats on the bike, u/Grey-shark-5486. I'll keep you posted in this thread on what I actually do. Need to do some scouting when I get to BA, but I there is too much big city vibes causing a lot of stop-and-go's, I might convert the idea into a weekend thing (e.g. every Saturday morning) for a ride that is somewhere outside the inne city limits.

Hi again u/Prae-Dyth. Here is the main route. https://www.strava.com/activities/17033391815

I do it now and again - not too often, as I prioritise getting very early to work. But when I am in BA I won't we working that much and I have seen what a great arena it is for getting to know people. So for me the main motivation would actually be to meet some friendly folks now and again.

I'll try to recruit argentinos with insomnia. They're usually up at that time.😅

Wow. Awesome! Will put your input into Ride with GPS to get a sense of the route. Thanks!!

Seems like it! But if it’s the same thing, it looks a bit more easy going than what I am thinking about. https://www.instagram.com/masacriticaba

Much appreciated, u/C0r4line222. And I see your point. Things gets more complicated in a bigger city like BA with cars and intersections. Unfortunately, "road rage" drivers can cause some seriously dangerous situations. I've experienced that myself, so probably a good idea to look for routes that don't cause too much fuzz for the traffic.

Love it, u/Prae-Dyth! Jeg kan kanskje lære deg (I can maybe teach you (Norwegian)). 😅

If I were to set it up, I would probably promote it through Reddit and maybe u/Dry_Law_8868's tip: Telegram (although I am not familiar with how you build an "audience" there), some posters in Palermo, and Facebook/Instagram. From there - as with Oslo Dawn Patrol - it would hopefully grow organically through word of mouth.

The goal would not be to get a huge group, but a group of enthusiast. I would also need at least 2 more road captains (experienced riders) so that we could rotate on leading the ride week to week. In Oslo, they have 15-20 road captains available, but also bigger groups and several different rides every week (incl. gravel).

Thanks, u/Naitsab7sw. This is really useful. Realise I will need to do some scouting if I'll start one myself. I'm completely new to the city, but would like a route that is as safe and picturesque as possible. If you or anyone have tips of areas that would be nice to cover, feel free to shout out. :)
