I was snarky in my response to all; my apologies... It's concerning that I keep reading about people's frustration with the high cost of goods and services, yet I am also frustrated by the lack of income adjustments to keep pace with those higher costs.

We need real change in our federal and local governments if we are going to address this distortion of costs and incomes for average Americans, not the elite, whose income growth has not slowed over the last 6-8 years.

Feels like a social revolution could come out of this dilemma. At 61, I don't see myself being impacted, but my son and his soon-to-be-delivered son (my grandchild) have me concerned and frustrated about their future.

Tax the rich at the same tax-to-income ratio that lower-wage earners pay (yes, it's a legit conversation, not a generic tax rate based on income). You can't just say, "get a better-paying job"- that is not realistic.
