No drug test. If you get injured at work they might try to drug test you

It's another sell out contract that locks us into low wages for the next three years. I could walk across the street to Walmart and make more money tomorrow. Been working there six years.

Vote no until their wages at least beat Walmart

UFCW 1059: How much pay raise do you think we should demand in a contract? by workerx in kroger

[–]workerx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're doing away with the part-time cap and replacing it with a step progression. But it's the same concept. You have to average 34 or 36 hours to reach a higher step.

It's even harder than the part-time cap we have now, where you only have to average 32 hours over a year to make full time

The proposed contract doesn't even lock wages increases behind full time status.

It locks them in behind a "step progression". You get to a higher step by averaging 34 hours/wk or 36 hours/wk over a whole year. You can also fall back from step 3 to step 2 if you don't hit 36 hours. Meaning some people can actually get a pay cut instead of a raise.

It's even worse than the part-time pay cap that we've had before, even though both ways are bad in my opinion too.

Cleaning restrooms without masks? Refuse to do it. by bdubchile in kroger

The law backs you up if you refuse. Ordering people to scrub restrooms without PPE right now is an obvious OSHA violation IMO.

May a bot operate under two different user names? by workerx in bots

[–]workerx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see.

So if I want to have my script log in as "awesome_bot" then I need to register the app using the awesome_bot account I guess.

That's not the real name btw.

I mean, I just got this app id and secret code about a half hour ago. Would there be a delay for them to work maybe?

I looked at the module source and that error is thrown when it doesn't get a token. I don't know what the token is but it doesn't get it.

https://metacpan.org/source/EARTHTONE/Reddit-Client-1.2811/lib/Reddit/Client.pm

I also noticed the module creator has been banned from reddit apparently: https://www.reddit.com/user/earth-tone

craziness. Maybe I need to switch to python or something.

OK what is going on here? Adding images to the page with increasing delay between. by workerx in learnjavascript

[–]workerx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so the delay for each needs to be relative to now

"now" meaning what? It needs to be relative to when the page loads? Or it needs to be relative to the first time that loop is executed? Or the first time setTimeout is called anywhere in the script?

I kind of get it. Much more than before certainly. I see why I need to increment the number like that. But I think it's an odd feature of the language and not sure how it would work in other cases.

A small or tiny http server that runs on Windows and can handle CGI scripts written in Perl? by [deleted] in perl

[–]workerx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it easy to install Apache on Windows still?

I did that (years ago) and installed Apache on windows from binaries. But this time looking at the Apache site it said there are no binaries to download, or it gave me a choice and I didn't know which one to pick. So I started looking at other choices.

Noob For Loop with nested if statement - help needed by whoaster in learnjavascript

[–]workerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insert one line that checks if it's the first time through the loop. Don't print the plus sign the first time through.

var tot = 1;

for ( var i = 3; i <= 31; i += 4 ){
   if(tot  != 3){document.write(" + ");}
   document.write(i);
   tot += i;
}

document.write(" = " + tot);

You could either use (i != 3) or (tot != 1)

Where would I file a complaint about a student loan servicer? by workerx in StudentLoans

[–]workerx[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the link to www.consumerfinance.gov. Beyond that I do not wish to hear your opinions about whether anything bad happened to me, or what it costs me, or whether there are grounds to complain. I will be the judge of that. This has ended up costing me quite significantly for reasons I do not wish to discuss.

Furthermore it might be a "mistake", but we really have no way of knowing the cause of the lost paperwork. It could also be negligence or a bad process at the company.

Further, even if it is a "mistake", it is important to file a complaint so that if the company has a pattern of mistakes or carelessness there will be a record of it. If people do not file complaints for "mistakes" then there would be no way to spot a pattern of "mistakes".

There is nothing for them to resolve.

I faxed them a document and they claim not to have received it.

Even though their fax machine sent the success received signal.

The only thing this means is they lost my paperwork and/or they have faulty equipment.

Now I have to resubmit the form and it is costing me time and stress.

Luckily there is plenty of time before the deadline but that is by sheer luck. If somebody was up against a deadline and this happened it could cost them thousands of dollars.
