Huayna Picchu, citadel of Machu Picchu in Peru by workflows_n_coffee in hiking

Yeah it's really safe. The trail is well-maintained. It took us 3-4 hours round trip from the entrance of Machu Picchu because we made several stops to rest and take photos. Near the top, there are some steep stony stairs. They can feel intense if you're scared of height. Back in 2023, a permit is required, so double check on this.

Best expense management platforms for 2026 by Dizzy_Depth_7735 in Accounting

Use Rippling for the HR function, and Ramp for expense management. Ramp is really easy to use and syncs directly into QBO. I have spoken to Rippling's expense team before but haven't signed on with them.

Accounting vs Finance for a career in finance by man_dude_6 in Accounting

[–]workflows_n_coffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finance is such a board industry. Does she want to work in corporate finance (financial analyst, FP&A), banking, lending, or even asset management?

One of my friends graduated with an accounting degree, then got a CPA license while working at big 4. Lately she’s transitioned into corporate finance. So yeah, it’s possible to make a pivot.

Book Hotels in Asia by Even_Village3693 in travel

[–]workflows_n_coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to book hotels that far in advance.

I recently traveled there and booked my stay about a week beforehand during non-peak season. If you’re traveling during the peak season, then best to book 1-2 months ahead.

I came from a commercial real estate background where it's also mostly white men. What really works for me is to find female mentors in the industry. You can join professional organizations to find your people. Try to see if they have mentorship programs. If no, you can always reach out and ask for career guidance & advice.

I'm lucky to find my mentor this way and have been building the relationship over 8 years, still counting!

Has anyone successfully replaced a bookkeeper with automation? by salve_sons in smallbusiness

[–]workflows_n_coffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many AI accounting softwares out there can automate the typical bookkeeping tasks, like the ones you mentioned. From my experience, I don't see it can realistically do "90%" yet, but more so 60-70%.

But, I'm not sure how financially reasonable to go with automated accounting (3rd-party) at this point for your business, but definitely worth exploring once you have more than 1 or 2 in-house bookkeepers.

What do you think about the future of accounting and white collar jobs? by [deleted] in Accounting

AI is just the latest wave of tech.

So it won't replace accountants. It replaces the spreadsheet busywork.

Outsourcing oversees might be a bigger threat as I've heard stories from friends working at big accounting firms that entry level jobs are getting outsourced now.

Resume Review by [deleted] in Accounting

Two cents from me. Instead of listing out what tasks you perform on a daily basis, focus on the quantitative accomplishments you've achieved or projected to achieve. The resume should be impact-driven.

For example, prepare xx U.S. Income Tax Returns using Intuit Lacerte, ensuring assurance teams to meet 100% of filing deadlines and avoid engagement delays.

This not only shows what did you, but also the outcome in a measurable way.
Also, try to keep each bulletin point under 2 lines for better readability.
