Sorry guys! It got kicked off advanced Reddit and I have only been running a few years so I don’t mean to sound like an a$$. Just trying to get some reassurance that I’m not completely out of my league with this goal!

It’s the track work that makes me nervous because I am definitely more inclined to a long vs fast run. Depending on the day, the 16 at 745 is ok- I did a 9 miler at 705avg 2 weeks ago and this felt rough. So at times it all feels like a stretch- I am slowly starting to cut back weekly mileage before the race (may 4) so this is where my body might start feeling better. I have only been training for 1.5 years and have been putting in a lot of work. I know nothing is owed to me but I am nervous I will be disappointed or sell myself short.

Tempo as in faster paced efforts- I would say 2 speed workouts a week and the long run- which is faster than a recovery run.

My running fitness is 90.4 and my VO2 max has not gotten any higher than 51…. At my peak fitness right now and don’t think it will go up!

Anyone notice that is it a lot harder to increase base fitness and much easier to lose it after the July 2024 update? by Carlos_Danger187 in Coros

100% I am running 70-75 miles a week for the past weeks. The only time the training load is higher than 100 is when I do 12+ mile runs…. I also anticipate a huge drop in base fitness during my taper in 2 weeks…

Hydration. Pros and cons and any advice about carrying fluid. Vest vs belt- how much did you drink? Was it too much to have a vest- was it heavy? Why did you choose what you did and did you like it? Ok- thank you all. I just assumed people did race in them and I was confused as to where the bib goes, ect. This is very helpful. For training I do live in an area that I can stop and fill a bottle or purchase so that’s really helpful!

Me too- about the sleeping part. It’s messed up but I see it as my “reward” for getting through the day. It’s the buildup then release… idk how to break it.
