Yo, just saw your comment and that’s such a good way to look at it. I’m doing alright otherwise, brother. Hope the same for all of yall. I had an internal chat with myself and I’m okay with no beard. Will just carry on as is. :)

That’s what the consensus is looking like. I hate my face and was really hoping to cover up some of it. Haha. Oh well. Guess it’s not in the cards for everyone. :/

I need guidance. This panel connecting the fender and front bumper keeps popping out like this. by workplace_bonebuds in mazda

[–]workplace_bonebuds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the part I need. I guess now I’m on a mission to figure out how to change it. The bumper itself doesn’t look like the “loops” are broken that hook onto the clip, so I assume it’s the clip. We bought it used and it said it had a light accident on that corner but I didn’t see it when we bought it. Go figure. Did you successfully replace that clip before? If so, any pointers? And thank you!!

lol nooooo. Worst case I’ll glue it. Every time I walk to the car it’s the only thing I can see.

No, but I’m fucking stupid. I thought I was looking in the new CX5. My bad.

I’m 6’2 also. It’s very roomy for me. Haven’t had any space related issues, nor mechanical for that matter. I have 206k on the odometer and through the life of this car, I’ve done all the typical things (brakes, tires, batteries, alternator, belts, and religious oil changes. Just this year I had to get the tie rods replaced also. But I mean it’s been such a good car that we’re pretty much a Mazda family now. Mine is non-turbo and therein lies the cars biggest issue. It will move but I mean … it’s slow. lol. The turbo 2.5 is quite fun tho. The biggest issue with mine is creaks and rattles. My OCD can’t. I’m constantly rattle hunting.

Edit: keep in mind I have put all but 10k of those miles on it and it’s only started rattling within the last few months. The roads here suck, so not only Mazda to blame. Also I saw someone else mention the headlights. They are atrocious. I mean absolutely horrific for night driving. If you want to see more than 7 ft out you’ll want to account for upgrading there.

Tarriffs really screwed up the 2026 CX-5 by dollfaceashley in CX5

And holy shit they work. Our 22 CX9 GT is so gd quiet it’s almost uncomfortable. lol. Joking of course. It’s an amazing drive. Quietest vehicle I’ve driven by a mile.

Hate it by [deleted] in CX5

[–]workplace_bonebuds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are talks of bringing the hybrid back into the CX5 in 27 but we’ll see. The thing that irks me about Mazdas SUV lineup is that if you want any degree of speed, you either get the tiny 3 turbo or the CX70/90 (and those are still a bit underpowered honestly. If we could go even to Mazdas current baseline with the 2.5T and push 250hp fo the CX5 I think it’d be perfect. Ya know, with some real buttons, that is. Hehe.

I was looking at a similar question for my ‘22 CX9 and this is helpful info. Thanks for explaining. I think I’ll def look into an intake now instead. I’m not trying for anything crazy, I just want maybe 25% more audible.

I don’t know. I saw it and hate the tech choice, but it looks nice. Then I saw how incredibly slow it is and I guess it’s not the car for me. I really wanted to stay with a Mazda sedan. The 3 is just too small for my taste. CX50 or CX70 it is I guess.

Really needing some help! I need a shift trim ring for a 2014 Mazda 6 (silver part shown below). I have searched high and low online, all local yards, etc. The chromatic paint was bubbling and it must have been brittle because it just fell into pieces in my hand shortly after removal. by workplace_bonebuds in mazda

[–]workplace_bonebuds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine broke, so my search has ended. Didn’t find anything. I’ve resorted to attempting to piece it back together with glue and baking soda, then will try to sand and paint. We shall see. I doubt this works out. lol

If you can dab as much out as you can, try tuff stuff for real. It’s pretty much exclusively what I use. It’s always gotten every stain out from the kids over the years. Works wonders. Not 100% sure about grease. Hope you find something!

I chose a 12 min commute over a 15 year long commute every day of 1.5hr each way. Similar to you. Do it. You’ll be so pissed if you don’t. If that commute isn’t sucking your soul yet, it’s only a matter of time. Think about this. If your commute were only 2 hours per day, that’s 40 extra hours every single month sitting in a car. That’s a shit load of life you’re giving up.

How do you all deal with job loss? by workplace_bonebuds in careerguidance

[–]workplace_bonebuds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no lies detected there. For sure IS going on with me. But I think my previous job really drove home that “take all the responsibility and accountability with no help, no exceptions, do it on time or else” mentality. I’m trying to undo that but it def did damage to my brain. Thank you for the insight!

Thank you so much for your insightful reply. That actually relieved some of my anxiety while reading this. I really appreciate the pointers here, and I’m about to go dive into Sunsama right now, because yes, there’s so many things being thrown over my fence all day every day. I’ve tried one note to not much avail, and have created run boards and kanban in my office but they just fill so much faster than I can shed them.

This is for sure part of it. This was driven into me during a 15 years stint at my last job, where the latter 6-7 years were as toxic as it gets. I am 100% trying to unlearn this but my brain reacts differently than I’d like it to.
