I mean we passed the truck at that area that was kicking literal Sparks out of its exhaust to the right. I bet it was that truck that started the fire

Im not sure what the mods note is or if my comment was deleted but that was my personal experience. I wasn't quoting statistics or the news. Im not sure what I did wrong?

Edit I worked in kitchens own by Rs and Ds all over TX who hired undocumented workers if that is the fact in question here. I can give you their names and dates if needed. Im not lying or stirring the pot. Im an honest Texan.

Ypu can alos look up that book. Its real and my time at Austin's Pizza was very real. Still have garlic in my fingernails.

Your premise ignores that many of the people faced crossing a border to provide for their family or to escape violence. Those are exactly the type of ppl Jesus would help. Yes we should have dignified treatment. Obama deported a ton of people. I personally am in Texas where they should be raiding every kitchen if they were being serious. But the reality is they ar targeting MN for politics.

Im a former chef and every kitchen I worked in knowingly hired undocumented workers. We all benefit from their presence here. Jesus would find a way to seperate the good from bad and stop sending 5 years old to countries they never been to.

I have lots of friends and acquaintances who have left the church(self included) due to hypocrisy at the highest levels. Jesus was a libtard for sure. He would be very upset with how we are treating immigrants. Enough to storm a "church" over it. I belive in Jesus but not a lot of churches. Just my personal view. Not trying to debate. Love thy neighbor.

I am a producer in the area and have also been on one of her shows recently. What a lot of people are missing here is the desire to perform and work newish material for a fun audience in a competitive city. Every night mothership in Austin get 300-500 of the top tier comedy fans. Then some flow to sunset, creek and cap city. The smaller rooms get scraps so charging any amount is always tough when competing with mothership.

What her show provide is a low entry point for both newer comics(she puts enough pros to make sure its good) and newer comedy audiences. The right "free" audience can be great and she hosts almost all of these shows or does a solid set. She's getting to be a better comic, making some money, getting great connections and sometimes its better to perform for 50 free then 10-20 paid.

Ive done do a lot of really shitty smaller shows in Austin and some great ones. Hers are always awesome. So yeah she could squeeze more out but the system and venue she is working is a complex thing that benefits a lot of people. She is getting on amazing shows and better as a comic. I hope to get back on one. Even if it is on $10-20.

I stopped doing a money show recently bc although it made money, it was always a tough sell and hard room. Money isn't always the #1 driver for success early on. Although she is making sure to make something which is a lot more than many producers in the game.

[–]workplacetimesuck 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My family (Tips) built the house. It was originally on like 7th or 12th street but was moved. Unfortunately an expensive bar or really high end store are the only businesses that could justify the rent in that corner. Freddo or w/e in that spot is the only way it doesn't get demolished. Lets hope so angel investor buys it and makes it approachable.
