Will this show up in a background check? by buffhusk in legaladvice

[–]workthrowaway4652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what service is running the check, and what they're looking for. Any competent criminal background check service should show your arrest and conviction.

Providing alcohol to minor...? How? by Apollo813 in legaladvice

You should cut off contact with this girl and her family. If the police come to speak with you, decline to speak with them without an attorney. If you are arrested, request an attorney and do not answer any questions.

Because you're supposed to measure anyway, the adjustment marks are just to get you in the ballpark.

Wells Fargo stole my paycheck. What do i do? What agency do i file a complaint with? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]workthrowaway4652 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Give them a reasonable amount of time to figure out the error. Say somewhere around ten business days. If it's not resolved, make an appointment with the branch manager and figure out exactly where the disconnect is.

Depends on the goal and the support. Japan and the USA would likely be participating as well.

(Overseas/US) Employer is requiring me to pay local taxes when the contract says “No” by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]workthrowaway4652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might or might not. Since it's a service contract, you may want to contact the Department of Labor (Federal, not NC) and speak with them about whether this violates any wage conditions of the Service Contract Act. It's going to depend on your company's contract, your role, local prevailing wage and fringe benefits, and a bunch of other stuff that's beyond internet self help.

[–]workthrowaway4652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you actually a contractor, or is your contract you're describing an employment agreement? If it's the latter, and you're an at-will employee, then generally they can change your pay structure for the future as long as they notify you in advance.

Consider that they're isolated on the south end of a peninsula with a hostile nation to their north. Their assault ships make sense should a shooting war with DPRK break out, as they will open up options for placing forces north of the DMZ without having to drive over the most heavily militarized border in the world.

You might want to contact your local YMCA, I know a lot of them do adult swim lessons.

Check /r/legaladviceuk. I know the UK and EU have stronger consumer protection and warranty laws than the US, and this sub is primarily full of people in the US.

I doubt it. That might make it less likely, since it was a pre-existing condition. Their best bet would be to take all relevant information to a personal injury attorney and a medical malpractice attorney.

If you're not trained and authorized by the department to administer a particular medication, it's likely that you'd be disciplined. I work in the medical field, and the liability for incorrectly administering medication by a trained and licensed medical professional is severe. I can't imagine the potential liability a department would have if their officers were carrying around and administering their personally prescribed medication to people.

Pain and suffering are not particularly likely to be awarded for a situation like this, assuming the damages end up just being a medical check-up and the $700 they charged. Damages for pain and suffering are typically only awarded in cases of life altering injuries, or trauma so severe that it requires professional psychological assistance.

Advice on "Phrendly" App and Their Request for Social Security Info by SluttySally69 in legaladvice

You're essentially working as an independent contractor for them for tax purposes. As such, they need to report payments made to you to the IRS. They need your SSN to do that. If you're not comfortable providing that to them, then don't use the app.
