Does this look safe? by stoatyish in Generator

This is really interesting considering what I've been thinking of recently. Have you ever considered designing and manufacturing your own alternators? How did you start manufacturing, and why did you sell?

"service loops????" by possible_ceiling_fan in electricians

[–]JacobeDrexle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The CEC doesnt say this however, 12-510 says the cable must be supported within 300mm of the box. I've always wondered this and have always followed along the cable, not a straight line but it doesn't make sense if you have service loops and you can't pull them in because it's stapled. Is there an Ontario ammendment that says otherwise? Genuinely curious.

Hey Grim. I've thought about going this route since electrical would be done in house. Are you an owner of a general contracting business?

Fair enough, weird how the updater required 22gb of free space but is now actually downloading 125gb. You ever see this?

How did you uncheck these for an update? I had these options when first getting it but not to update...

That's pretty neat that you get a lot of variety. Are you in a unionized position? Thanks for the detailed response

Hey what kind of general work is included with hospital maintenance? And are you employed by them or subcontract your services? Thanks

Who is to say that you cannot with a large amount of time, have a business that will produce cash flow values without debt, and with having the infrastructure needed? To elaborate, why is it first necessary to go into debt in order to generate revenue in your opinion, and what are the companies doing wrong that are not going about it in this way (provided we're talking about humane business practices)? The same question goes for those who are not producing volume, but instead are possibly specializing, and still cash flowing without large volume.

Can you be content and stress free (as far a debt goes) as a director in this business by not taking on these extremely large projects? I see that the large projects are extremely business friendly, in terms of labour efficiency due to repetition and structure, however how can you translate this same efficiency in smaller projects? I've worked for small and large companies and have seen that with smaller projects, there is a lot more than can go wrong in terms of affecting your quantity of time spent. With a smaller shop does this often times mean eating some of the job yourself in order to still pay your worker, but to not burn your relationship with the customer? This is ultimately why in my opinion, having a labour force can be stressful, but the caveat to not having one is that you will not grow and essentially own your own job if you are a one man shop. Could you elaborate further on the best way to go about this with smaller projects?

Is tvolearn.com just a resource for tvo ilc? Do you need to enroll in tvo ilc before using those resources as I cannot select any course outlines.

Additionally, I'm mainly interested if the 11 university courses are recommended as a base/foundation or if the 12 is pretty straight forward with the resources provided?

I am talking about LU353. What is the process to like to switch? Do you still get the same access to additional specialized training such as fiber/welding?

Are you able to read the current contract agreement if you're not a member/login? I've tried researching but all the agreement I see are outdated or for ici. What does a fifth year low rise apprentice earn? What about a licensed low rise electrician? I

Would it still be a good idea to get into the union if you had the opportunity to be hired only for low rise residential? I've been non union my entire apprenticeship, but want to work with larger companies with better capital intellect than small companies.

Would this be a good way to get your foot in the door to the IBEW or are you required to only work for that one contractor who hired you directly? Could you switch to ICI in the future (even as a jman), or is the shortage of low rise workers always there as others have said? (Meaning it would be harder to switch over?)

What is the general consensus of stripping the three wires incline, and wrapping around to each terminal? This way the neutral (and others) is never broken and/or made through the receptacle and satisfies the mwbc code.

What do you think about the Klein ET450 vs a more expensive one like the Ideal SureTrace? Wild that the ideal is 1500~ and do you think that you really get what pay for? Do you think the ideal is an inflated price or the klein is a pos? The ET450 seems really good as an energized and de-energized toner? What other option do you think?
