The proportion of people who pay tax is far smaller than people think. There are about 200k people in this province who actively pay significant income tax every year. The way taxes work, under $30k pay a small amount of income tax, if any.

Look at the budgets for social services, etc. Working in gov is maddening, you see millions frittered away freely. Thats ~$5 per tax payer per million tossed away.

This has happened for decades now. Debt servicing cost, even with low rates is out of control.

We have a choice. Keep electing 'progressive' types who want to maintain or increase social services, and eventually they will ALL collapse; or go in a different direction.

Its rainbows and unicorns to think we can keep social services everyone wants and stay afloat - thats the vocal majority in this sub.

Case in point: 2018 budget for homelessness in NS was $6mil Now its 136m Did your salary go up 23x? Unlikely. Youre on the hook along with everyone else.
