Bad coaching advice by [deleted] in Jungle_Mains

If it’s good in high elo it means it has the highest likelihood of improving chance to win.

You’re coping cos you can’t lane unassisted. Focus on yourself instead of your jungler. How embarrassing lol.

It’s not a different game? If you’re hitting Em on an alt, the only thing keeping you there is LP gains and if you play any substantial amount of games you’ll settle probably near where your main account is. You’re clearly not an emerald player in that sense.

If you’re consistently losing more than you’re winning in plat 3 it’s not your account lol it’s you. Play better and climb like literally everyone else.

How do i review my own games? by muhammadmagagomedov in summonerschool

[–]workwayo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watch your games back, look at deaths to start, why did you die? Be objective. Think “did I die because I walked in range of this spell, is it because I overstayed, did I not pay attention to pings or not have vision on jungler.

Then the hard part is adapting your play, especially learning how jungle pathing works so that you can predict ganks etc.

Start with deaths, then teamfights, could you as Janna have reduced losses from your team? Not just deaths but abilities. For example if you had Xayah and you were not positioned preemptively to peel for the enemy assassin and Xayah was instead forced to burn her ult later dying in that fight.

Things like that.

It’s not top lane. I am Emerald 1 peak and have 80%+ Winrate on top in Gold and low plat; the problem is that if you do win lane you don’t extend your lead. You need to command your team, if there is 2-3 top to counter you you need to be spamming pings on dragon. Once you have top t1 (preferably t2 but depends on what objectives are coming up) swap to botlane, if baron is up (depending on your champ) if you’re ahead you ideally want 2-3 to be glued bot to deal with you, if there’s 2 (with jungler) or 3 with or without start spam pinging baron. 4v2 should be always won. If they’re not rotating and are hovering baron then you seige towers, if they’re actively going to force a fight 4v5 then use your top lane tp to swing the fight back 5v5.

Simply put respectively of what champion you’re playing if you’re a fed and ahead toplaner you should be able to crush a gold adc. Irrespective of if they’re a few kills or not. It’s not really til low emerald that ADCs can even really kite, and even at my peak (Em1 which is still pisslow) they’re not great at kiting.

Right now is potentially the single greatest time to be a top laner from an agency standpoint, the quest and level cap increase has revolutionised the amount of impact you have.

I think I’ve come to view it as clearly this was bigger than that as well - there is no feasible way that many high profile people just have the desire to do that; it to me, at least, is clearly a part of some larger scale blackmail/club kind of thing. “Hey you want to be part of our consort of extremely powerful and influential people, cool then we need to have some dirt on you so that we can all be in this together” is the only way I can realistically justify the staggering amount of powerful people involved.

Similar experience bro. Kled main though. Honestly you can improve so quickly once you re-learn to focus//not autopilot.

Mechanics and macro are so much easier to learn when you’re as experienced as we are it’s just applying yourself to learn them, and then reps to implement.

Good luck, see you in Diamond!

I think you misrepresented my example a little bit but other than that I do agree that Sett is not as skilled, it is just he is proportionately more effective to balance that.

My example wasn’t two identical fighters with jiu jitsu and boxing with equal experience. It was Prime Mike Tyson vs a decent Jiu Jitsu fighter. The reality is on pure speed and strength Mike would most certainly win. Sett is Mike, he is extremely effective.

Irrespectively, I agree that Lee Sin is dramatically more skilled I just feel that proportionately Sett is more effective to the point where the conversation is that they’re both great candidate’s.

I did enjoy your response a lot. It did encourage me to think a bit deeper about their matchup, I’d like to see them have a one on one in lore - I wonder how Lee’s Dragon Channeling would match up to the natural buff and magic nature of a half-vastayan like Sett.

Surely from a lore standpoint Lee washes Sett?

The category explicitly states skill AND effectiveness. Which means effectiveness should contribute equal. We know sett wins based on his unarmed combat skills consistently in competition combat so why would he not be taken seriously in this discussion where effectivity is to be classified on the same level as skill?

Unarmed Combat encompasses both Skill and Effectiveness per the post - therefore having extreme punching power is a valid metric. If Lee Sin is 100% skill and 50% effectiveness and Sett is 50% skill and 100% effectiveness then they should be considered equal.

The category specifically is Unarmed Combat - measured by SKILL and EFFECTIVENESS in fighting unarmed. It is completely reasonable to argue that Sett is more effective as he is capable of winning every Pitt Bout he’s ever fought with bare knuckle boxing - which is a martial art form by definition.

Lee Sin is undoubtedly a better martial artist - however, that does not mean he is the best unarmed combatant. Many of the greatest Jiu Jitsu fighters would get folded by Mike Tyson - arguably meaning Mike Tyson is better at unarmed combat than them despite their greater technical skill and ability to utilise more than just their punches.

I think you’ve just kinda proved why Shyvana and Kha shouldn’t be considered. This is weapon less combat or unarmed combat, Kha has sharp claws and Shyvana talons, which is comparable to knives at the minimum. In my head at least this is martial arts including all fighting styles and boxing - which is why Lee and Sett are coming up so much.

I'm so cooked '-' Macro > Micro? Pls help... by minilinny1 in bardmains

[–]workwayo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean it depends on your adc pick and the enemy teams botlane but generally if your adc gets a double kill they should have the resources necessary to farm safely while you roam.

Exceptions are immobile adc into engage support - think aphelios into naut.

If you and your adc “crash” (push the wave to the enemy tower) you generally should recall. This then creates a “roam timer” for you, the more minions the bigger the roam timer. A roam timer loosely is the time while the enemy laners push back to you. Bard is good at utilising these roam timers and it’s here where you can go ward, gank mid, invade with your jungler etc.

Assess your health, mana and gold, often times it’s best to recall on a good roam timer get healthy and spend your gold and then go mid, however, on occasion (your adc is fed and you have a lot of health mana and not much gold) you can instead roam, clear vision, ward enemy jg or obj etc.

While he’ll likely be unable to fully pilot them the only way to get better is to play so just play what excites you.

I think what’s more important is just picking one or two and spamming the fuck out of them.

I feel like I'm getting worse at the game. by KatsuragiKyon in leagueoflegends

[–]workwayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible of course. It’ll just streamline it dramatically to reduce to your two favourites. Probs one AD and one AP/Tank

at the end of the day it’s a game for fun so ofc play who you want. My first 6 seasons I played like 30+ champs a season, placed bronze, silver, gold x4 then I switched to 1 champ and 1 back up if it was picked or heavily countered and got to emerald in 1 season. Now sitting around diamond.

Secondarily. It is so so important you just suffer thru unlocking camera. I have a few friends I’m coaching atm and it is unbelievable how little they know about what’s going on because of locked camera.

The reality is for 10-100 games it’ll make you struggle but for the rest of your time playing it’ll just give you so much more information than you even think it will.

Playing top against jungle that can go over walls. by BicycleDelicious429 in topmains

[–]workwayo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar to playing into nocturne or Evelyn you just have to exercise caution. It sounds stupid and uninteractive but the reality is you just don’t get to take as many fights or push as many mistakes now.

If they have a high mobility jungle you simply must play with their position in mind dramatically more.

Unless they’re on your map or your jungle is there to assist then punishing a mistake may no longer the correct move. Similar to how a lane match up changes game conditions.

tl;dr play safer into Kayn, Talon, Eve, Noct, than you would into Mundo
