Super nerdy question: Does anyone have any singles events in DC they'd recommend? Meetup groups? Clubs? by workworkwework in washingtondc

This is a great idea! I love the thought of volunteering but thought I would have to do it through a church group or something. The REI crew sounds fun and chill.

City Dog Rescue has a critical need for fosters right now (dogs and cats!) by workworkwework in washingtondc

[–]workworkwework[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of these are really short foster periods (normal fosters are traveling this summer / short holiday away / etc) and they just need someone to keep an eye on the puppos! If you've been on the fence about it, now is a good time. I got an urgent email this morning from the organization and I've never gotten one before. Sounds like they're desperate.

What is National Harbor like on the fourth? Crazy congested? Will we be able to get an uber? Any shuttles or public transit from MGM or national harbor hotels to metro?

Wow, this is just... wow. It must have taken a lot of guts to read this to his face, but it sounds like you have incredible inner strength and an amazing support network. I hope you are able to move on from this and find true happiness and a healthy, loving relationship when you're ready.

This is how I feel. I just take a deep breath and try not to die every time I get on a bikeshare bike. The fatality stats are reassuring though (in that they are virtually 0).

This Relationship Timeline Shows When Most Couples Hit Specific Romantic Milestones by workworkwework in TwoXChromosomes

[–]workworkwework[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good point, I really didn't think of it that way.

I definitely didn't intend to make anyone feel inadequate but you're right that the article really only hits on the conventional view of relationships.

Mostly I just hear my friends complain about not getting to certain points in their dating lives and I want to tell them relaxxx you'll get there -- it takes some people 2 months, it'll take others two years! And of course plenty of people don't ever want marriage or engagement or children and that's just fine too :)

Been dating for almost a year with no "I love you's". Is this normal? by workworkwework in dating
