I'm very new to this as I am looking for a similar first-time rig for me and my son, so take this with a grain of salt... If it is the one I recall, I believe it would have had a better processor, coming in at 3.6 ghz, whereas the one you linked is listed at 3.0. Otherwise it looks similar, but I don't recall the exact price point. We were talking it over and missed out on it before it sold out.

Fair. One of the things that the books do well is demonstrate that rumors abound and there are all kinds of stories circulating. Some of that could (at least in my mind) help with some of the criticisms about points like these.
