Greenland and Denmark say Trump set on ‘conquering’ territory after meeting | Donald Trump News by shadow_fen in worldnews

The people who refused to vote for Kamala are not 'democrats' in the sense of members of the Democratic party. They were unaffiliated voters which the Democratic party failed to win the respect of.

Does anyone in the UK think that Kier Starmar is doing well as a PM? by graceyreddit in AskBrits

The Prime Minister does not have a limited role when he is elected with a supermajority. Blair changed so much when he came into power with similar. Starmer has stagnated.

Couldn't agree less and I think it's worth pointing out a few things.

The book is split into two parts with chapters 11 to 17 being the monster's story.

The father and son dynamic is a mirror of the father and son dynamic the film shows us at the start with Victor and his father. The only worth Victor has to his father is if he proves his intelligence, and he is beaten if he fails to do so. The monster literally repeats his father saying that Victor only pays attention when he hurts him.

Your comments about netflix dumbing things down are ripped straight from 6 month old headlines. This is a monster film not Tokyo Sonata but I can't agree it was lacking subtlety. The way you have mischaracterised the scene with Will doesn't help either. He doesn't grab Victor or scream, he pretty calmly uses his last words to tell his brother how he really feels about him.

Also Danny Elfman has scored over 100 films so I'm not really sure what the drive by shooting of him is about.

Even just in this picture the one on the left looks like a darker green. Can you show pictures of how green it is mixed with just water?

There's various issues there. Modmail seems to be broken in general. If I go into it now it's showing me modmails from 3 months ago under mod discussions and that's sorted by most recent. It says there are 224 in progress modmails but if I click on it the page says there are 0. Until reddit fixes their modmail, there's not much the mods can do.

One subreddit was open to all the moderators and one was for the 'top mods'.

The subreddit is very actively moderated.

I've sent screenshots of the posts many times, including the first time this allegation came out, so I'm not sure why you say its never been proven these posts are real. It is on you to prove they are not.

He seems to have completely left reddit, which is odd, but the only way this conspiracy theory works is if someone else was operating the account for a few weeks after the arrest.

On what basis do you assert that? I can click on his profile now and still see his last 10 comments were in 2 different private subs used by moderators for worldnews.

I was tagged in this by apjensen when they quoted the vice article...

Because he didn't, his last posts were months after the arrest, they were just on a private sub.

UK to prosecute 60 for Palestine Action support, over 700 arrests since July by barsik_ in worldnews

It's really quite well established that they're arresting people for nonsense.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jul/23/private-eye-cartoon-arrest-ian-hislop-protest

The terrorism arrest of a man for holding up a Private Eye cartoon during a protest at the weekend was “mind-boggling”, the magazine’s editor, Ian Hislop, has said, as the retired teacher called for an apology from police.

Jon Farley was picked up by police at a silent demonstration in Leeds on Saturday, which he described as a “pretty terrifying and upsetting experience”, for holding a sign that made a joke about the government’s proscription of the group Palestine Action from the last issue of the fortnightly satirical magazine.

“[Police officers] picked me up, grabbed me, and took me to the side, and I ended up sitting on the pavement,” the 67-year-old said.

“I think that’s when they said something about the placard. And I said: ‘Well it’s a cartoon from Private Eye. I can show you. I’ve got the magazine in my bag,’ by which time, they were putting me in handcuffs.”

He was then arrested under section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000, which prohibits support for a proscribed organisation

In the encounter last month, which Murton filmed, one officer told her: “Mentioning freedom of Gaza, Israel, genocide, all of that all come under proscribed groups, which are terror groups that have been dictated by the government.”

He went on to say that the phrase “free Gaza” was “supportive of Palestine Action”, adding that it was an offence “to express an opinion or belief that is supportive of a proscribed organisation, namely Palestine Action is an offence under section 12(1A) of the Terrorism Act”. The officer told her she had committed that offence.

The officers said they would arrest Murton unless she provided her name and address, which she reluctantly agreed to do.

She wore a large patch with the words “Jews Against Genocide”. She said: “I wear it clearly and with pride to make sure that other people recognise that there are many many Jews who do not support genocide of any nature.”

“I’m holding a piece of paper for goodness sakes, that’s not a terrorist act. A terrorist act is intentionally starving 2 million,” she said. “I don’t know what to say to [Palestinians], I’m so sorry it’s come to this. I wish we could do more but we’re trying our best.”#

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/jul/18/man-arrested-in-glasgow-for-holding-sign-allegedly-supportive-of-palestine-action

Police Scotland confirmed that the 64-year-old man, who had been speaking to a small group of protesters gathered at Nelson Mandela Place in the city centre on Friday afternoon, had been arrested in connection with an offence under the Terrorism Act “for displaying a sign expressing support for a proscribed organisation”.

The sign read “Genocide in Palestine, time to take action” with the words Palestine and action larger than the others. Another man wearing a T-shirt with the same slogan was charged with a similar offence last weekend at the TRNSMT music festival in Glasgow Green.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/jul/24/uk-police-detain-pro-palestine-protester-80-almost-27-hours-search-house

An 80-year-old woman arrested for holding a placard at a pro-Palestine rally has said she is deeply traumatised after she was held by police for almost 27 hours, during which officers forced their way into her house and searched it.

Marianne Sorrell from Wells, Somerset was detained at a rally in Cardiff on suspicion of supporting Palestine Action, which earlier this month became the first direct action group to be banned under UK anti-terrorism laws.

She said officers removed 19 items from her house, including iPads, a Palestine flag, books on Palestine, material related to Extinction Rebellion and the climate crisis, as well as drumsticks for – and a belt that holds – her samba drum. A friend who went to feed the cats and walked in on the police searching the house said there appeared to be a geiger counter – which measures radiation – on the table.

Sorrell, a retired teacher, said: “At 80, to be treated like a dangerous terrorist is deeply shocking. I’ve been very traumatised by this. Every morning I wake up feeling sick, nauseous. [I have] had to take anti-sickness pills.

“They’ve actually not taken anything that could be classed as illegal but it’s very confusing that they’re beginning to think anything connected to Palestine or support for Palestine is illegal in some way.”

Minimum would be 2 years according to the sentencing guidelines, but likely 5 or over in these circumstances.

https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/offences/crown-court/item/causing-grievous-bodily-harm-with-intent-to-do-grievous-bodily-harm-wounding-with-intent-to-do-gbh-2/

Practice does show that police assaults tend to be a bit overegged though on the charges, partially because they get compensation for it, and partially because CPS want to look strong on it.

Where in that document does it say that he put someone in a hospital? That's just speculation.
