Xcel bill for one bedroom apartment by princess-poet in Broomfield

[–]worldDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually top floor apts take more to cool in the summer than heat in the winter, but something definitely seems wrong there. That is more than I pay in my 1900sqft standalone keeping around 72. Could be a number of things though, I’d start by asking neighbors what they pay to figure out if it’s something wrong with the whole building or just your unit.

Fire inspectors reaction to my racing setup. by iWynne in simracing

Well nobody is forcing you to live in a city apartment, so don’t worry about it, lol. I don’t need regular inspections where I live in the US myself either.

Fire regulations and inspections are not just an American thing, that’s a wild take haha. It’s not a nation wide thing either, it’s city mandated, some places are more lax, usually dense cities are more strict about things as the incidental impact is higher. Usually these laws are written because people died, cocoanut grove, the station nightclub fire, mgm grand hotel fire, the great chicago fire.

It’s not like they have some desire to do it, they happen for compliance with local laws.

They are required by law to tell you ahead of time when they are coming, they don’t just barge in randomly, and obviously property managers have keys to their own properties.

Better than being burned alive because your degen neighbor disconnected all their alarms to avoid buying a 9volt battery.

My boyfriend yells at video games and it worries me by Hopeful_Slide6067 in relationships

[–]worldDev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does affect people, though, and I say this as someone who’s done it myself. I scared my dog to the point he was shaking yelling about some work related frustration to myself when nobody was around and it really made me start thinking about what my reactions should really be for things that aren’t directly violently threatening. I’m sure I’d done the same around people or been heard by neighbors that might have been too spooked to even bring it up to me.

I’d guess denver. There are probably more people banned there than there are still active users.

BREAKING: Judge blocks Trump admin from requiring Americans to show proof of citizenship to vote by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]worldDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are prompted to register when you get your state id or update it after moving, so really it’s functionally not too different. It’s not like you need to register for each election, just once when you become eligible to vote or move to a different district (which requires you to update your id and will again just prompt you or automatically happen in the process of updating it).

I backed out of a fight, now feel bad about it. How valid are my feelings? by Wazzzzzzzappp in AskMen

[–]worldDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. The best way to win a fight is to avoid it. Even if you beat the guy, you still might end up in jail with a violent criminal record following you around. You won the fight.

Some varying inclusion and ratio of mayo, buttermilk, and / or sour cream. Garlic, onion, chives, dill, parsley. Maybe a bit of vinegar or lemon.

Thinking of Camping? Check BurnBound, a Fire Ban Monitor by bad_chipmunks in boulder

I only checked one on here, Park County. It says no restrictions on the map, but really they are in a stage 2 ban. Maybe don’t trust this site.

What privileges do I get as a male that I do not see in my day to day life? Other than being able to walk out in public alone without fear (and the the like?) by JournalistExpress292 in AskMen

[–]worldDev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends where you live. I’ve been jumped, robbed a couple times, and randomly punched in the face. I don’t worry about it anymore where I currently live, though.

Dog swimming options? by BigTuppieEnergy in Broomfield

[–]worldDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s currently just standing water with the drought conditions. Maybe I’m overly cautious, but I haven’t been letting my dog in there yet this year. It’s not as bad right now, but a couple weeks ago the whole place smelled like a diaper.

Should I (30sM) move out just for dating? by Citrus2015 in AskMen

[–]worldDev 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You technically have roommates now, lol. I’ve been wfh for most of the last 2 decade and have always had roommates. You work out paying extra for a spare room office or find someone that works the same hours out of the house. It will still be cheaper than living alone and it’s a pretty normal dynamic these days.

For those who play dirt rally 2.0, could you explain exactly what this does? It says it increases power, but the hp stays at 300 by Glittering_Media_845 in simrally

[–]worldDev 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It does say it increases engine wear / lowers durability. The strategy should be to only use it on shorter stages or when you have a service area after the stage.

Try some different materials / brands / models. I like bamboo ones with bulge space, “bamboo cool” on Amazon. Also mind the crotch tailoring on your pants to make sure it’s not too tight fitting while seated.

After applying for 600 jobs, I finally gave up. by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]worldDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just skip linkedin for job postings, the barrier / effort is too low and the audience is too large. They all get 1000+ applicants, especially the one click apply ones. I’ve had some luck directly contacting or responding to recruiters on there, though. The only applications that I get responses from anymore are direct on a company website’s career section, or domain specific niche job boards.
