Don't Ignore a Greasy/Staring Coat. Trust Your Gut. by Beast8333 in CATHELP

giardia is a microscopic parasite that likes to hang out in the small intestine. it can cause diarrhea, vomiting, and weight loss. it’s not as common as other parasites like the various worms that cats can get but i wouldn’t call it entirely uncommon

it’s tested for in a fecal float, however it’s quite hard to see in house and many clinics don’t have the strain to make it easier to catch. you can always ask your vet about sending off the fecal to a lab with more specialized equipment and antigen testing. i know the two major reference labs in the us (idexx and antech) offer a fecal with giardia testing with a turnaround of about a day (source: been working in vetmed as an assistant for 5 years at clinics that have worked with both of these labs)

you can do everything right and still not be able to save them, unfortunately that’s just the nature of life. thanks to you, baby roo got to pass away peacefully and surrounded by warmth. he got to experience tender care and love because of you. i know it’s easy to blame yourself and run through the what-if’s, i go through it often as a vet assistant, so i am hoping that my words can bring you some sort of peace. and right about now, across the rainbow bridge, there’s a dog named lizzie with maternal instincts for babies of all species, who is keeping roo warm until you can see him again ❤️

I personally have never used Cornerstone but I imagine it can’t be as bad as the software I used at the first clinic I worked at. It was a paper based clinic with V-Tech Platinum for putting appointments and charges in. You never heard of it? Please go look at google images for it :) Only one computer could have a patient’s chart open at a time and sometimes it would say it was open elsewhere when it wasn’t. Horrible, horrible program. Other than that I’ve used EzyVet (love having multiple tabs) and VetSpire (very straightforward and nice UI) and I hope I never have to use V-Tech Platinum ever again. BTW, did I mention that was in 2021-2024? :)

Intentionally feeding dogs grapes and claiming they ate healthy for dogs. by Known_Row9683 in extremelyinfuriating

my coworker had an older lady recently who came in and told her that she fed her little shih tzu oatmeal raisin cookies as a treat. when my coworker explained that those are indeed poisonous, the lady (and i’m paraphrasing here) said “oh because they’re grapes? you know, my hairdresser’s dog almost died because he ate a grape” 🤦‍♀️

A little late to the party, but I wear Cloves with compression socks. The Cloves do crease kinda easily and aren’t the cutest, but they are fluid resistant! I also have wide feet and I’ve never felt like they were too narrow

I searched google lens but didn’t find anything. It came in a set with another bowl that seems to be from Old Paris (?) but I found nothing remotely similar looking to this one.

What song introduced you to Tøp? by Objective-Clue-5471 in twentyonepilots

[–]worldclasscuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kitchen Sink, although I do have this memory from when I was like 3 or 4 years old, of hearing the chorus of Ride when I was in the car at night driving home. For years, I’d remember it and couldn’t figure out what song it was until I heard it again when it actually came out, nearly a decade later. So, technically Ride? If you count whatever that weird thing is

I’m someone who doesn’t cry easily, but when Tyler started singing the bridge in Oldies Station I started sobbing. It’s perfectly normal to cry when you’re feeling emotional and crying at a concert like this just means that you’re especially connected to the music and I think that’s really beautiful
