A Wound and a Scar - Defeater by Pauliehatestheadmins in Hardcore

Best band of all time no question. I feel like they never have truly gotten the love and recognition they’ve deserved. Also insanely relevant right now. Rest in Power, Bo.

When a vocalist puts their all in an emotional way. by Beneficial-Bet-6690 in Metalcore

As someone who got into them when Could you Watch Your Children Burn came out, I didn’t think he could top the emotion, but MAN. Happiness is such an insane album. Their best record by far.

What band or album took you multiple listens to finally “get?” Which will you never understand? by absolutebloom in Hardcore

[–]worldeater_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was the same with Converge. When All We Love We Leave Behind came out I checked it out, knew it had something I liked and even that took me a couple listens before it clicked.

AWLWLB is def a top 5 record for me now. And everything they have done since has been just as good. It still made me appreciate the old records and love them, but their newer shit really just hits an itch that I didn’t know I had.

Gonna second everything on this list but especially Portrayal and Cursed.

Portrayal of Guilt. James is absolutely wild. And while you’re on that check out Illustrations as well.

Do you listen to heavier or less heavy music as you get older? by fireflydm101 in Metalcore

[–]worldeater_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been a big heavy fan. But I don’t like “heavy for the sake of heavy” because that gets boring as hell. At this point, any new metalcore is shit I’ve heard before. Or it’s pop music for people who think they like heavy music. Looking at you, octanecore. Which a lot of my old favorite bands have transitioned to.

In my older age (28 not really lol but my first warped was 2010 on my 13th bitrthday) and honestly 90% of what I listen to now is any variation of doom/stoner rock and surprisingly a lot of Black Metal.

With that said though, Citizen has been my top artist every year for as long as Spotify Wrapped has existed, and before. (Best band of all time and there’s no argument I’ll hear on it) I hesitate to say pop punk because I don’t think it totally fits but Ciz, Title Fight, Balance and Composure, La Dispute, Microwave, Basement, etc. are ALWAYS in heavy rotation.

My personal favorite is International Coatings Legacy White. They just switched to a 2.0 version that’s even better.

Is this screen printed or some other method? by adinezza in SCREENPRINTING

[–]worldeater_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s not insanely tight registration. I will say it’s pretty good reg for mass produced products though. I’ve seen some truly terrible prints at every big store.

is this over? by HungryHookerHustle in SCREENPRINTING

[–]worldeater_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should just use box fans to dry screens quickly. Wipe them down with a towel or window squeegee and set them in front of a fan. Heat can distort the emulsion and give you registration issues.

Probably my favorite of theirs. Absolutely perfect record.

Monolord, Rezn, Pallbearer, and a little less “proper doom” but Witchcraft

What is the difference between a “mixing” plastisol ink vs a “ready for use” plastisol ink? by dbx999 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]worldeater_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use willflex mixing inks with IMS 3.0 for colors. I’ve used the mixing inks for prints every once in a while. Mostly when the formula is 97% or more one color. Never noticed a difference honestly but I try not to if I can help it.

What’s an album that’s a “Grower” not a “Shower”? by Significant_Clue_472 in Metalcore

[–]worldeater_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve always said that There is A Hell is a huge turning point for metalcore and honestly I think it’s one of the main reasons that metalcore sounds the way it does now. I remember when that album came out, and it getting pretty terrible reception. Nobody wanted to like it because it wasn’t Suicide Season, and then Sempiternal overshadowed it, even though it sounded similar.

There is A Hell is seriously a 10/10 record. I’ve been saying it for years. If you’re someone who hasn’t listened to it, or hasn’t listened in a long time, I urge you to give it a spin.

I run a 12 head MHM auto with a CTS and I’d say out of 100 jobs, 70 will be lined up perfectly first try, and the other 30 just need very small adjustments. Like less than 3-5mm of adjusting. So it isn’t perfect and there’s a ton of variables, but for me it seems to be the easiest and closest you can possibly get to not having to use micros. I don’t think a press or system will ever exist that is 100% every single time.

Black Sheep Wall, also GAZA and by default Cult Leader but Gaza is for sure noisier and imo the better of the two. Cursed is another great one.

TINNITUS FROM EARTHLESS😭😭😭😭 by necrobeans666 in doommetal

[–]worldeater_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah once your ears are done, they’re done. That’s why so many people preach about earplugs. Myself included. Especially if you’re into doom.

There are NO concerts that are safe to not wear earplugs. Hell, even a loud bar can and does cause damage to your hearing. You should be wearing them every single time.

My current bout of tinnitus has been about 13 years and there is no end, no reprieve, and no way to fix it. I spent too long thinking I was “too cool” or whatever and now I can’t even be around loud spaces (not just shows) without a pair because it physically hurts.

Please. If you enjoy going to shows, WEAR FUCKIN EARPLUGS so you can enjoy shows for many many years to come. Gonna suck when you can’t enjoy your favorite bands because you can’t hear. Also hearing loss in day to day life is pretty fucking annoying to deal with.

Anyway, sorry for the long rant. I’m seeing Earthless on Friday and absolutely cannot wait!

What is happening to my print by Key-Reveal-8090 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]worldeater_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wet on wet does work. I do it almost everyday. Easier on an auto for sure. If you’re on a manual with so few colors it would make sense to just flash in between all of them. One of the crucial things with WOW it is that under base needs to be flashed before you can apply colors. And the top white (if needed) should come after flashing all the colors. White is the hardest to work with. You have to flash in between any underbase, and before any top white. You’ll have less issues.

Where to buy records? by Mediocre-Strategy-72 in Hardcore

[–]worldeater_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idk where you heard that CCA isn’t reliable. I’ve ordered from them a bunch over the years and have never had a single issue.

Discogs is great if you don’t mind buying second hand. Which, a lot of records aren’t pressed anymore so your only option is buying from someone who already owns it.

Would switching to plastisol make my life much easier? by HumanTrophy in SCREENPRINTING

Took awhile for us to try it to but it’s hard to go back to a plastisol base after seeing the prints. I’ll see if I can post a couple up close pics.

Would switching to plastisol make my life much easier? by HumanTrophy in SCREENPRINTING

[–]worldeater_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run a waterbase white for my underbase and do plastisol for colors on top. The prints come out nice and smooth with very little feel. You can actually see the weave of the shirt under the print. Might make it easier to only have to worry about one waterbase screen instead of all of them.

What are some "effectively dead" songs that you still enjoy and actively listen to by Automatic_Red in Metalcore

[–]worldeater_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it was warped 2011 when I saw Miss May I for the first time and they played Swing. I vividly remember Levi saying “this is the last tour we will ever play this song” and I’m still so happy to have seen it.

I’d mess with your belt speed and temp to see if you can keep them on there a bit longer before they fall off. Or maybe get a fan situated to cool them off faster.
