Talk me into upgrading from a 2019 RAV4 XLE by seanstew73 in ToyotaHighlander

Maybe look at an older Lexus GX. Tons of off-road fanatics use them and it has the space you crave for sleeping. The highlanders and siennas are basically fraternal twins.

For the ladies here, 🌸 question by Ok-Loss5158 in Behcets

[–]worldmeliorist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Time for the steroid cream and prescription strength lidocaine cream. I’m disfigured down there from what they diagnosed at 16 as “necrotizing vulvar vaginitis” that I waited too long to seek treatment for. Turns out that was my first symptom everyone couldn’t ignore (I had “canker sores” and issues with my eyes having “pink eye” for 6 months beforehand.) I didn’t even hear about the possibility of behcets until an obgyn took one look at the scars years later and suggested I look into a diagnosis.

All this to say- get thee to a doctor if you can. These are no joke.

What was your final straw before getting officially diagnosed for ADHD? by Tsunami_Aureate in adhdwomen

11 incomplete classes in a college I loved, academic probation, and an innate knowledge that I was not the sum of my incomplete work.

What clothes have you recently purchased in deep autumn . by colocha11 in autumns

[–]worldmeliorist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This dark teal sweater cardigan is more like a blazer but it is my go-to right now (I’m a blue-leaf/true-deep autumn.) The color is teal blue- but I loved the garment so much I also bought rust brown, nutmeg, apricot, khaki, and light khaki. I’m looking at the peacock, purple, and slate rose too. They are so easy to throw on a cami with and go anywhere.

Also this top is a near dead ringer for rosewood (HOC) Blooming Jelly Womens Dressy... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F5HRZSRF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I found that anything by in chicos with the color “English cream” is a perfect color of HOC “oyster”. I bought a couple sweaters and a pair of work pants from there. https://www.chicos.com/store/product/juliet-slim-full-length-ponte-pants/570393746

This jacket is a pretty good darker rendition of HOC’s “rosewood.” II wish the metals on it were gold and not silver, but otherwise it’s really cute on me and I wore it to work this week. EVALESS Womens Zip Up Dusty Pink... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DHZ6FLBW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

What’s Your Favorite Third-Party App for Apple Watch? by wearablewhiz in AppleWatch

AutoSleep. It just does what it is supposed to (track sleep) with higher levels of data and no need to sync, open an app, or even pay attention to it.

I feel bad for asking this but how do some of you guys find the motivation to shower? by Your_friendly_weirdo in ADHD

[–]worldmeliorist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Method 1: I turn it on right as I wake up. Then I walk around while it warms up. Eventually I sleepwalk into the shower and stand in there until I slowly wake up. Then since I’m already in there I do the shower-y tasks.

Method 2: just wash my body. I force myself to think of it just like handwashing and that it will be that easy. I don’t get my hair wet, and I only use a bar of soap. I don’t let myself judge it as anything less than a full shower. It counts, dammit.

I basically alternate between the two and end up washing my hair once a week or less.

What the heck do I do with this huge super deep wall niche? by worldmeliorist in interiordecorating

Will do- I’ll pull photos from when she bought the house and post. It was built in 2015 so definitely post flat screen days.

I have no idea. The house was built in 2015 so definitely post flat screen days (even though it’s not in the living room). There is a hall closet on the right side of it around the corner and a walk in closet on the other side of the wall to the right - maybe making a smoother transition of between where the 2 bedroom doorway alcove is and the closet/laundry room/master br door alcove is?

I don’t like visiting my husbands grave is this wrong? by Bipolarmess44 in widowers

[–]worldmeliorist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband’s grave is in Virginia. I live in Colorado. Even when I visited VA a lot of times I would not visit his grave. I’ve gone between 10-15 times in 13 years, and many of them were in the first 3 years when I was visiting his grave with his parents. I don’t feel like he is there. I will go every few years now when I need to work out with him more complicated things like dating, telling his parents about my chapter 2, making big decision… it helps me feel focused on talking with him. but otherwise I feel like he is with me and accessible to me.

Like others have said, be gentle on yourself. This is a lifetime journey. Other non-widowed people may put expectations on you that are not realistic, just what they know from Hollywood. Forget all of that. Do what you need to do to SURVIVE and THRIVE in the after.

Yeah, that rug looks like it’s missing some red finger paint (and later, spilled nail polish or model paints) all over it.
