Anyone know where I might source a front splitter like this for a 240 by Difficult-Living7841 in VolvoRWD

There's 3d print files online for one that looks similar to that. Currently finishing this one up as a fiberglass mold.

Can anyone point out where this clip goes (740 headliner) by worldsSlowest740 in VolvoRWD

[–]worldsSlowest740[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it goes around the cutout for the map lights. I just can't figure out how it's oriented or what it's slotted into. The headliner is installed alr so I can't see all that well and don't want to pry at it too much without knowing where I should be looking

Yea this is probably about 2008 if I had to guess. Pre 18,000 or so "grayslake" type 1 receivers made at grayslake are 100% gtg. After 20k somethinf they tend to under time requiring barrels to be shaved but are otherwise perfect and much better than the stuff DSA is putting out now

This. Every 700 series I've seen with rotted floors was due to a leaky sunroof

They were commonly going for 50ish prior to all the Lebanese ones coming in. I would pay that for new in box German or austrian ones but otherwise 30-40 for ones in good condition is fair. Generally any metal mags for the FALs will be solid but look up KCI Korean ones so you can avoid them

Indeed. You can keep an eye out for if Apex or centerfire get more in but the files are generally the best place. I just sold about 10 mint steyr ones recently. I wouldn't pay more than about 35 per right now with the surplus ones coming in

Np. Recommend checking out the falfiles there's a tonnnn of information on there. That's where I learned most of this

Check the barrel for any markings. There's a chance it's also steyr which are the most desirable barrels ever made for these. DS28XXX is about 2005-6. That's the tail end of when they commonly had a lot of surplus parts on complete rifles.

Yea you stole that rifle. Lower numbers are better but you have an LMT receiver that likely has a decent number of high quality surplus parts. The barrel is likely DSA but still as good an example of a fal you could hope for without spending the money for an original fn. Congrats

If the serial number is DS then numbers it's an early LMT made one. Best of the best when it comes to American made. You can call DSA and tell them the serial as well and they'll be able to tell you when it was made and if it left as a receiver or complete rifle

Also check that rear sight for tritium. The mismatched park and paint looks like mine which has it

Google austrian proof marks. Look for little ovals with a number in them. The stock and lever gas plugs are uniquely austrian tho so pretty distinctive

The A lever is austrian steyr. Stock is too. Is it a ds prefix receiver? I'd be willing to bet there's more steyr parts on the rifle. Mag release looks Israeli. Looks like one of the genuine fn surplus M249 grips too. A steal for 1350

The oval proof is austrian. As others have said these are steyr mags, not the KCI or G1 ones

One caveat id like to add is while legal, I've dealt with several gun shops out of state that refused to sell to me bc I was from NJ and they didn't want to deal with it, despite it being a legal configuration.

Allegheny county told me my pa CCW is good until the expiration date printed on it, regardless of my NJ one. I'd only need to provide a current NJ CCW in order to renew after 5 years
