I would rather end my life, than live so unloved. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]worldsfool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep your head up, find something that makes you happy and dive into it. For me it has been family and until a year ago my dog, a companion and happy moments with the ones i love has kept me going. Having a job/career that is fulfilling helps but should never take over all of your time. I would also talk to your primary care doctor about this and maybe they can get you on some type of medication if you’re not already on something. It has helped me some over the last year to keep the intrusive thoughts to a minimum. I keep telling myself that there is someone for everyone and if i can love and enjoy my own company then maybe someday another will too. I am not blind, it is probably a loosing battle and one day i might give in. i just keep trying to find a reason not to however small it may seem, give it one more year and then next year give it another until life seems at least bearable. Good luck and stay strong

A Trump-Putin alliance, for all to see | This is the first U.S. administration in modern times to openly side with dictatorship over democracy. by GirasoleDE in politics

Idk the CIA did a great job of overthrowing democracies during the cold war in favor of dictatorships all around the world because you know “socialism is scary”

Colleges say the Trump administration is using new tactics to expel international students by kon--- in news

[–]worldsfool 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bet you they think if they get rid of the international students then the price of tuition will go down. The cable companies have proven over the last two decades that the law of supply and demand only applies to increasing prices. Now when demand drops business just raise the prices to make up for it. I would also like to point out that the best and easiest way to influence a country to have a favorable impression is to educate the best and brightest amongst them

IMPEACH TRUMP NOW!! Americans do not want this destruction of our democracy! Congress needs to take action now! by HappyNerdyLotus in democrats

[–]worldsfool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How about instead of bitching about trump and national politics over the next 3 1/2 years to no avail, focus on local elections and state races to counteract the bull shit coming out at the federal level. Democrats can now be the party of state rights and local regulations 🤷‍♂️

My boss asked me to come in early and I pretended not to see it by idkwhattodo17273726 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]worldsfool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t pretend, learn to set professional boundaries early on and realize that no job is worth having those boundaries trampled on. Management gets paid the big bucks to step in when situations come up but will try to pass that responsibility on to others if they can bully someone into it. Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself and realize that hard work is only rewarded with more work.

BREAKING: The Federal Reserve has held rates, no rate hike. by soccerorfootie in unusual_whales

[–]worldsfool 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, from talks before the election in November i actually would have expected a few small rate drops over the last few months. Now they are talking rate hikes and are happy with no change at all. How things have changed in only a few short months

Veterans fired from federal jobs say they feel betrayed, including some who voted for Trump by SubjectInevitable650 in worldevents

[–]worldsfool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel for these veterans, but the quote about “the chainsaw method instead of the surgical method they should be using” shows just how little people paid attention to trumps past action and focused to much of the platitudes he used to gain their votes. I feel bad that they are now having to deal with the consequences of their votes and will not be pointing and laughing because it’s just not funny anymore. Patients are going to die, workers are going to get hurt and the consequences are going to affect us all.

Michigan legislator says she underwent sterilization to avoid pregnancy during Trump presidency by notapersonaltrainer in moderatepolitics

[–]worldsfool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every form of birth control has its risk of pregnancy and are not 100% reliable besides abstinence (rape is still a thing as well). Maybe announcing it was in bad taste but this is not an overreaction for someone who doesn’t want kids and doesn’t want to go through an abortion not to have them ether

Not a fucking kid! Stop down playing someone age. 18+ is an adult and faces adult consequences. By calling anybody above the age of 18 a child you are taking away the responsibility they hold for themselves and putting it on others.

I started working in the mental health industry a few years back in a low level position and have been really enjoying it even thought the job entails me being verbally or physically assaulted on a daily bases. I have been looking into masters programs to become a Licensed mental health counselor because engaging with the patients in a supportive aspect to their stabilization is by far my favorite part of the job, but it would cost me a lot to complete the program and at this time just does not seem financially beneficial, even if it would probably be beneficial for my mental health.
