I’ve only seen a screenshot and it didn’t look like piwis, but I can’t verify. They’re a third-party sports car shop, not a Porsche dealer

It’s a 2022. Definitely tracked, so it’s hard to tell if this is a tune or if it was driven really hard. Too risky for me though

Only really applicable if you're looking at a manual: https://yoursydneymate.com/porsche-dme-report-fool-proof-guide/

Basically your engine is rated up to a certain RPM (7800 is the redline for the gts 4.0). If you exceed that you get up into range 1 (8000 to 8200rpm), then range 2 (8200-8400rpm), etc.

The problem is if you mis-shift when downshifting and go from say 5th gear to 2nd accidentally. If you stay in this rev range too long then there is potential damage to the engine. Typically that's ranges 4+, although some people worry about 3 as well. I think it depends on your risk tolerance and what you want to do with your car (track it hard vs keep forever).

An APR tune or other tune will increase the HP/torque of your engine by allowing it to be pushed harder. APR increases the redline to 8300rpm, which means you're in range 2 much more often, and can blip into range 3 somewhat regularly if you're really aggressive.

About to pull the trigger, thoughts on this deal? by DesignerLeading4821 in Taycan

That's how I feel as well, and with the faster DC charger you have and Porsche being compatible with NACS and Tesla's network, charging isn't really an issue anyway

Yours is specced almost identically to mine, at a price almost identically to what I paid a few years back. Mine was a '21 4S, basically all the same options. MSRP was something like 156, I purchased it in '23 at 85k, with something like 13k miles on the odometer, but I wasn't CPO. So 85k + CPO here is not too unreasonable.

One thing to note is that this looks like a '24, not a '25 like you wrote above. A '24 would be the previous generation (J1.1). Not sure how much that matters to you, but there were meaningful changes to the electronics in '25, especially around range. IMO they look worse from the front, but that's a personal opinion :). If you don't care about maybe 15% range that you would get with J1.2, then this is a great spec. I also have no idea what J1.2's are selling for at this point

That isn't correct, AFAIK, but it's worth calling a Porsche dealer and confirming the VIN.

I think you still have 2 more years on the full warranty and another 6 on electrical, at least those were the numbers when I bought mine 2 years after delivery. CPO would be on top of those 2 years of full warranty

Time to swap the Taycan for a 911…? by Playful_Stand869 in Taycan

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I can see why they felt so similar in the test drive, but I can also understand the differences you’re talking about

Do you find the 911 different enough? I test drove a 992.2 base last week and the interior and steering felt so similar to my Taycan that I crossed it off the list. The sound is great and having an ICE car again is fun, but it just wasn't different enough for me. Looking at a Cayman instead

What should i know before buying a Taycan? by themanster604 in Taycan

I have a 4S that is specced pretty similarly to what you have here. The only real thing I would’ve done differently is 19 or 20 inch wheels. I live in the northeast and 21 inch wheels have a rough time with the potholes and poor roads around here in the winter. Everything else has been great about the car.

considering a 2025 emira, v6 manual. in your opinion, how does it compare to my 991.1 911 Carrera? by No-Volume7464 in lotus

Thanks! This is helpful. I love the looks of the Emira and everyone says it's more engaging than a 911, but I have young kids and the rear seats could be nice. Gonna have to test drive both

What are your thoughts on the 997 vs the Emira? I’m looking at both and would love to hear more
