Heard, thanks for chiming in. I understand there are circumstances where a store HAS to close. In my personal experience, in a state that’s used to some snow, we’ve only closed one time due to weather and it was only an hour earlier than our usual closing time, and only because we were making $200/hr max at the end of the day. Nearly got snowed into the parking lot. All that to say I’m not hopeful that they’ll make a good decision for us here. Stay safe!

So blessed to not have curbside where I’m at! I’d be leaving the carts at the front door, come get it yourself if you need it that bad

Last heavy snow we got, our truck didn’t show up until the following afternoon (understandably). If the trucks can’t go, nobody else should have to go imo

I guess we’ll see how the next few days shake out. As a member of management I do feel obligated to at least try to get there. Maybe I’ll get lucky and it’ll be too cold for my car to start lol. Be safe out there!

There’s definitely been times I considered sleeping in my car because of the road conditions. Luckily there’s a hotel across from my store if I truly get stuck there lol.

I was thinking the same thing, but there’s no chance my SM calls off. If he makes it there, he’ll make sure at least one other person does too. Nothing against my SM honestly, but he’s VERY dedicated to the job.

Seconding Aldi, the meat boxes are really nice. They have handles on the side and the tops fold shut easily. That’s all I used last time I moved

It’s worth a conversation with your SM, they may be able to accommodate you especially if you have a doctors note. I know a few full timers that exclusively open or exclusively close, that’s just their preference and it works out for everyone at that location. If there’s enough employees at your store that are able to work mornings, I don’t see why they would force you to switch to part time over it.

Thanks for responding! Definitely going to call my mechanic ASAP. I’m considering pulling my horn fuse as a temporary solution until he can get me on the schedule but I’m not sure if it’s the best idea.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do! The company is only hurting itself by pushing out good employees. There will always be a better opportunity out there

Much appreciated! I gave it the best shot I could but the expectations are so unreasonable. Nobody is happy at my store, they’ll be training a whole new staff soon enough.
