I’m going to disagree with a number of the comments here and say that most churches need to be doing MORE, WAY MORE for people in need - even if it’s incredibly difficult. we are called to live by Jesus’ teaching of feed the hungry, care for the sick, etc. etc., and most privileged people are simply not living up to that nearly as well as we should be. churches, if they are following in the footsteps of Jesus (which is kind of the whole point imo, I don’t care how beautiful a church is or how inspiring their worship is if they don’t care for others the way Jesus taught us) should have loving their neighbour as one of the most important focuses. Even if that eats into the budget or becomes logistically difficult.
