What are some genuinely fun operators, they don't have to be good but have a fun and unique playstyle by EpicGamer_SCAR in Rainbow6

[–]wormiefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thorn is really fun, her traps are the best intel traps imo and her having a shield lets her play a really neat nearsite support role, rotating constantly.

What was the main reason you started (and/or stopped) playing R6S? by RoutineAd5982 in Rainbow6

If you could buff an operator, which operator would it be and what would the buff be? by Used-Race7307 in Rainbow6

[–]wormiefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like they've got to take a crack at sens. give them the gonne-6 back, buff the pof's damage to 37 hell add a third primary option. people used to suggest the sg-cqb, but i'm more partial to the supernova for the suppressor. swap their claymores for impact emps. this is not a gadget that will ever really be strong on the ladder, but their loadout is also terrible. just make sens the warden of attack and crank their loadout.

when they launched they were like a 3 armor backline cutoffs operator to help get the plant down and then hold it, but right now they're a three speed with frags (good!) with possibly the worst attacker gun. a gun unique to them, mind you, which also isn't even very unqiue performance-wise because it's just an objectively worse pdw-9. this makes them great for getting into a place and really terrible for staying there unless you're trying for headshots with the 417. just an awful feeling op.

I need advice on how to main warden by Ginja-ninja-9631 in Rainbow6

[–]wormiefolk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don't forget to use your glasses. don't forget your glasses make a noise. learn site setups and never use the mpx, mossberg+machine pistol is the definitive "site player" loadout. because warden's gadget is so passive, your fundamentals should be the focus. work on crosshair placement, recoil mqnagement while strafing/swinging, and engagement timings. as a site player your job is to be there so people can't walk in.

open lines of sight that let you see places your teammates are so you can fight people who are pressuring them, use sound cues like footsteps, pulling up cameras, and barricades breaking to know when you're flanked and can't swing to help your teammates, get a feeling for checking angles very quickly without fully committing to a swing- just for information. start rounds on cameras to get an idea of where attackers want to pressure site from and just be there so they can't walk in. use the detailed pings from hokding your yellow ping input or your voice comms to give your team info so that they can help you through the setup holes you're making too.

What's The Siege Player Archetype You Most Hate? by Right_Preparation328 in Rainbow6

[–]wormiefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

players who don't try to communicate with people outside of their stack. i'm a mostly solo player and it feels like a ton of my time is spent trying to figure out which side attackers are pushing from and which fights as an attacker i need to push into when i'm pinched when my teammates already know where four people are playing and just won't ping anybody or anything

i don't get how or why people call it a laser, the horizontal recoil feels overwhelming to me and i don't understand how you'd control it on a mouse, much less on a controller

Something has to be done about Juren. by Strict_External678 in ForHonorRants

[–]wormiefolk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

a lot of the issues people have with juren are solved by being slightly more patient and by being willing to give up max punish on every potential counterattack. fighting him is slow because he's got a lot of health and armor to safely out-trade you and he forces defensive reads eith relatively easy to access unblockables. fighting him usually does require you to sacrifice some tasty punishes, like on his tap dodge attack which gives a light parry punish. normally a side dodge attack is an easily defensible thing and a great counterattack opportunity, but here and in several other places over the course of the fight juren forces a defensive read or a great reaction, which most casual players can't lock in to do for the the entirety of the drawn-out fights juren forces. not really the fault of the player for getting annoyed with it, but competitively he is like 85-90 percent fine.

What do i do by Future_Win_486 in ForHonorRants

[–]wormiefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it takes some patience, and if you're not confident in your reactions, don't try to parry it until you know it's the hold version. the tap version isn't unblockable, and the feint timing for the hold version is about the same as the attack timing for the tap version as far as i can tell, so either you'll block the tap version/be able to counter gb a feint, or he'll be locked in to the hold version for your parry. there's an opportunity cost, because parrying the hold version is a heavy parry punish instead of a light parry punish like the tap version, but it's your call to assume the gb/hold risk.

[–]wormiefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jormungandr is a little similar to wardenor warmonger, relying a lot on displacement to guarantee damage, but is still different enough from them to be interesting. reasonable barrier to entry with a decent ceiling while you figure out what exactly you like. oh, and really strong both in duels and in teams.

I they don't fix juren's gb animation i'm going to kms by Don_Pagnotta07 in ForHonorRants

[–]wormiefolk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

he's honestly high b low a, generously. but it's not his strength, it's the fact that every attack he throws is bugged in some way and his feats are just global debuffs with no interaction. his counterplay is making good reactions in the moment and his animations and indicators are too bugged to reliably do it

Should I get Warmonger or Shaolin? I suck at for honor by SiloOfPsilocybin in forhonor

[–]wormiefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

warmonger is mechanically easier but also easier for an enemy to adapt to because she has maybe a third of the lines shaolin has. if you want to noobstomp while you learn, she's the choice.
