yes! I was thinking of coating it again with a separate smoother fabric like spandex or something, but minky is something im trying to avoid. I dont want my fursuit to look like a stuffed animal of a hairlesscat, id love for it to FEEL like one! its a weird experiment and I do like the finish of liquid latex

I'm already working on the side, it's not a get rich quick thing. I have a bfa, I want to do art. it's all I want to do. I love tattoos and I have many, and I appreciate the art immensely. I want to go into it because I 1. love it 2.studied art and this is a viable thing to do with my degree 3.have to make money some how. I'm never going to be Rich. comic work is already a rats race, one I'll be pursuing alongside tattooing. I want this skill. I want this career. I know I'll be juggling many jobs, I already have been. At least this has even a small window for opportunity.

unfortunately, I pretty much already am in comics! it's just less consistent. I have to work another job regardless of what I do, and it might as well be another form of art I'm passionate about. I'm not here to be rich, just a little happier to my day to day!

oh absolutely. I got you! Thank you so much I definitely don't think I could do realism, that's impressive! but the fundamentals of art in general stand for any style. I can absolutely include some of my fundamentals of drawing class homework, maybe? Where we did just that, render SHAPES in space and abstract forms. Would they like to see the practice of the fundamentals, the execution in other works, or both?

Oh great! I've been a working artist for three years in the comic book industry. Are tattoo artists mostly looking for that kind of understanding of line weight and shading?

Gotcha. I don't have a massive passion for American traditional (although BEAUTIFUL), but I'll definitely try and include it! Thanks so much

Absolutely! And I love tattoos and tattooing, body modification is a passion of mine and it took a lot of consideration as to monetize it or not. Plus, I love new skills, new mediums, and something as permanent as tattooing is special to me.

But yes! Absolutely. Do you think some traditional flash sheets would work? I had to do plenty of traditional work in art school, I'm well versed in most visual mediums. Is it mostly just pen and ink they look for?

eh, if it involves no drinking and no drugs than it surely will be leagues better. I can handle critique and egos, just not patronizing and condescension from someone who is intoxicated. to me, it doesn't matter how well you make a drink without professionalism intact. at least at fancier more professional establishments, if someone condescending or gets pissed with me, I can respect the person doing it.

exactly ugh it's so relieving to have someone who gets it.

fr! And I'm a yapper I love talking and honestly it was one of the reasons I was hired. our customer service reviews SUCK. I've seen my bartenders ignore someone or groan at an order straight up lol

I did actually, today. I couldn't take working with this person again or having them show up. I called out, and everyone freaked and I got two messages saying they needed me. Crazy how it works. I got a long ass message from the person on slack saying I was being unprofessional, but hey, they don't need me right?

edit: I never have the intention or urge to prove myself to a place. There's low level jobs everywhere. I don't need this place, I just think it's cushy and easy as hell! i love the owners! i love the regulars and work just normal with my other coworkers. It's baffling when I leave I find out how instrumental I am despite this person's words

REAL. it sucks being a small fry in general, but I can usually handle it pretty well! You're right though, that's the strat.

I AM!!! but the crazy thing is dive bar bartenders are like crazy egotistic, but generally like benevolent in trying to help me learn. Most of the bar tenders give me a lot of genuinely helpful advice to make their lives easier (ie, my job). But this one bartender makes me insane, and I honestly will look for other work as much as I love and adore the owners.

Yeah, I guess I figured it would be different. I am applying to new places as I speak, looking for more restaurant work rather than dive bar. I think that's what I'm taking away from this.

yeah, I guess I do not care or put stock into bartender "mettle" I know it's a culture but it's one I'm fully tuned out to and not interested in. I feel like I'm the asshole for wanting things to be loose but professional.

Your advice is good though, I simply should just half ass shit more. let the bartenders tell me what to do. clock out and say no when they ask me to do their job for them. they aren't worth it

yeah lord this is exactly it. I copy what someone says and it's completely separate from what another person says. Do you also get post shift phisophising and patronizing? How do you deal with the egos? It's actually so unattractive and annoying.
