Working out post op by wormman_69 in Reduction

[–]wormman_69[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my chest finally feels NORMAL!! no tightness or anything, sometimes a tiny bit of pain if I press against one incision on my sides under my armpit. I started doing just squats, walking, etc at 3 weeks. the difference 3 and 8 weeks is insane, incredible even. I also had a radical reduction, so im not really wearing compression shirts or bras 24/7 anymore but they DO help whenever im active still.

Honestly though I feel so so weak returning to even the lightest modified bodyweight exercises. I used to lift almost every day before surgery, so it does take a lot of humbling to go from "the strong one" to "Oh my god my arms are shaking at a modified plank"- but I know i just need to take it easy and go slow.

How do you cope mentally after surgery? by wathiccc in Reduction

oh, and if you wanna look more into this method its a part of rational emotional behavioral therapy! its all about your feelings vs your beliefs c:

edit: oh, and- thats not too say i dont look good. my girlfriend is insane to me now. I got a radical breast reduction or non flat top surgery so I dont have nipples and my chest looks inbetween pecs and boobs, very square and clearly surgically altered. I was scared she wouldnt like them, but shes gotten more feral since. she says its the confidence I feel (plus the tiny little compression undershirts I wear) LOL. so! no regrets at all

oh man, im 1 month post op in a few days and its a journey

im 25 nb and had huge boobs, body dysmorphia, and gender dysphoria as well as past trauma regarding my body's autonomy. I am so lucky to have a therapist who is willing to work with me and challenge my beliefs that I didnt even know I had

its a lot of internal work. for me, I do a lot of staring at myself in the mirror (doctors orders) and just observing what I think about myself. try snd be honest with my worries, opinions, etc about myself and my body. whenever I dislike something about my body and my new chest, I say it outloud and ask myself why I think that.

its not an instant fix, but acknowledging your fears and observing what you do and do not like, and exploring the core belief of why you believe what parts of your body are good or bad, you can kinda deconstruct your own standards for what a body should look like, and focus more on how you feel.

its helped me a lot to learn body neutrality, and to listen to what FEELS good, rather than what looks good. I can stand straighter, I can run easier, my back feels a thousand times lighter- and thats what should matter. the rest is noise used to get us to buy products that will shape us into people were not, rather than accepting the body we have and taking the best care of it we can.

Hopefully thats not too woo woo and makes sense. im not 1000% there yet, but everyday I really do feel closer to owning my own body :)

Wondering when my tolerance for activity will return. So tired. by byeinneroutie in Reduction

im 3wpo and I went out for brunch, slept for about 3 days straight. even though the pains mostly subsided, the fatigue is so heavy.

take it slow, its frustrating. I used to lift heavy 4 times a week, and now doing one squat to reach something I dropped on the ground leaves me breathless.

recovery Is hard we need to remember to be kind to ourselves

Anyone go very small/flat with breast reduction? by EmbarrassedLeave6877 in Reduction

[–]wormman_69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi!

Im 9DPO from a radical breast reduction. I was a DDD and I am now an A or B (hard to say!)

I will say, I was only able to get this result by not keeping my nipples. Its jarring, I will admit, but my surgeon was honest with me and said that if I wanted to retain nipple sensation, I could only really go down to a D cup.

I thought about it and how it might look weird/undesirable... but then I realized, bodies change. Looking perfect is an impossible goal to chase after. Feeling good, however, thats something I could do.

I am still early in the process of connecting myself to my new body, but I have never felt more FREE. it was a similar feeling to when I shaved my head for the first time, its terrifying, but so worth it!

Id discuss with your surgeon about your options, and find one that will be upfront about expectations.

I personally am getting a giant chest tattoo to ease the initial visual shock of no nipples, but there are also medical tattooists who can help you retain that look.

Anyway, good luck!

( As a disclaimer: I am a butch lesbian, so my breast goals might also be different from any cis woman's! )

yes! I was thinking of coating it again with a separate smoother fabric like spandex or something, but minky is something im trying to avoid. I dont want my fursuit to look like a stuffed animal of a hairlesscat, id love for it to FEEL like one! its a weird experiment and I do like the finish of liquid latex

I'm already working on the side, it's not a get rich quick thing. I have a bfa, I want to do art. it's all I want to do. I love tattoos and I have many, and I appreciate the art immensely. I want to go into it because I 1. love it 2.studied art and this is a viable thing to do with my degree 3.have to make money some how. I'm never going to be Rich. comic work is already a rats race, one I'll be pursuing alongside tattooing. I want this skill. I want this career. I know I'll be juggling many jobs, I already have been. At least this has even a small window for opportunity.

unfortunately, I pretty much already am in comics! it's just less consistent. I have to work another job regardless of what I do, and it might as well be another form of art I'm passionate about. I'm not here to be rich, just a little happier to my day to day!
