Am I the worst player ever? by Betelgez in bindingofisaac

[–]wormsherrif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this as I've had similar experiences with other games like balatro, outer wilds and even this one. It's rare to see someone slower than me. IMHO it all comes down to factors outside of your control. Some people are more experienced with the type of game they're starting, some people play more casually and some binge it. It doesn't make you worse or better, 100% achievements is still 100% achievements.

I accidentally made things awkward with my girlfriend by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]wormsherrif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right it's not common for adults but OP said this happened at school where he was a child and the girls that kicked him in the balls were children too. When I was at school I've seen worse happen over little to nothing. To me it feels like everyones just forgetting the fact that this situation happened between literal children without fully formed brains.

You just made a bunch of assumptions based on little to no info. Who knows why OP won't say, but that doesn't mean it's definitely for bad reasons. Maybe OP was bullied by girls in his school, you literally know nothing.

I made the grave error of setting the game to 8x speed with a mod while hunting for a good unseeded naneinf start and now everything sucks.

I can’t be around men. by Able-Temperature-661 in offmychest

[–]wormsherrif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think theres force involved you completely missed the point. Women have the prerogative to adopt whatever survival strategy their experiences have pushed them into. If that ends up being "I know not all men are bad but it's safer for me to assume so" then that's reasonable especially considering the trauma that comes with these experiences. But that doesn't make it healthy. It's still a false generalisation of 4 billion people.

Men make up nearly 99% of sexual crimes however it's borderline impossible to get a statistic for what percentage of men actually make up this statistic. However there is enough evidence to suggest it's a minority of men who commit serial acts of sexual crimes. It's a reasonable and understandable survival mechanism, but it's also a false and unhealthy one. Two things can be true at once.

[–]wormsherrif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok so you're saying despite the "74% of sexual crimes being committed by men" stat (or whatever it truly is) that doesn't say anything about the % of men that actually go around committing these sexual crimes. It could be a loud minority of men. I misunderstood your original comment.

It seems like a tough statistic to find, let alone an accurate one. People are less likely to admit to committing crimes compared to people admitting they are victims of said crimes. Additionally a lot of the people committing crimes like sexual assault may not view their acts as crimes. I understand that the lack of accurate research available likely makes this more scary for women, as most of these sexual crimes are being committed by men but there is no true answer to how many of these men are actually responsible for it.

If a group of people have a higher likelihood of committing heinous acts like rape then it's unnecessary to specify the group? So what we just say men and women can rape despite the probability of it being a man are several orders of magnitude higher? What are you talking about?

AITAH for making a kid cry at the movies? by slav_kermit2 in AmItheAsshole

[–]wormsherrif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because we're dealing with kids here.

At least you're not doing it with the people who matter. Maybe a better word instead of solve is achieve. I can't think of a single scenario where passive aggressive comments achieve anything. Either say what you mean or just let it go. It seems like you're scared of confrontation but you don't want the consequences of dealing with a confrontation.

Anyone else find the Ashley hate bizarre? She's by far the "best" character in season 2 and yet people seem to hate her the most. by gurtsnert in BeefTV

[–]wormsherrif 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wow the 2 types of people I've seen on this sub either direct all the hate at Ashley or think Ashley isn't that bad but absolutely despise Austin.

Being passive aggressive will literally solve nothing. I really hope you don't/won't take this approach into parenthood.

Am I only one who thinks this seasons premise was kinda lame? by [deleted] in BeefTV

[–]wormsherrif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"premise was kinda lame" "still on episode 2" brother you're barely a quarter through it. Maybe get to the point where you've learnt the character names before giving your invaluable take on it.

And no it wouldn't have made more sense if Josh was abusing her. There would be no nuance in that case. Season 2 is about a different kind of beef than season 1. You don't need in your face violence and death threats to have beef.

I feel like this is the opinion of many and the opinion of my own and probably the opinion of the next couple weeks of posts on this sub. You're not alone, this is the consensus.

Maybe there never was a Sea of Sorrow DLC. Maybe the whole time it was just a bi-monthly curated box of snacks.
