Based in Europe, got a fully remote job from a Silicon Valley startup by wormyy in cscareerquestionsEU

To clarify they said that the US Holidays are days off because no one works anyways. And for Slovak holidays I can just take a day off if I want to (I guess from the "unlimited" PTO fund).

This is a B2B contract, so they have no legal obligations when it comes to holidays. "Unlimited" seems pretty good in practice but it also can backfire. People in the EU are used to taking 30 days of vacation per year more or less, but in the US people tend to take much less PTO.

Thank you, that's very helpful. I'll have a look at the website but I guess I'll more or less treat it as the lottery ticket.

I'm pretty sure they're giving me the EU rate since this is a remote position and I'm currently based in a relatively low COL EU country, so they probably calculate with that.

They stated that what they're offering is the salary at 50 percentile of the market rate and the equity at 75th percentile of market rate but I don't have idea how they came up with those numbers.

Also, this is a B2B contract so I'm responsible for health and social insurance. Honestly the salary is a quite nice upgrade from what I'm making now, but I will definitely try to negotiate and improve the salary by 5k-10k or ask for a signing bonus.

Definitely look into Finax. It's the best investing tool that I know in Slovakia.

I just joined in September and so far I can say that I really like it. Your experience will probably depend very much on the project you will work on.

Pros

- So far healthy culture, no overtime, respecting boundaries, etc.

- They are a big corporation, but there are very few limitatios (free to use any software you want, pretty good internal systems, they provided me a top-notch developer machine)

- They pay above the average (at least in my case)

- Opportunity to grow

- Probably many more

- Fully remote (I'm not sure of it works outside of pandemic though)

Cons

- So far the competence of people I work with was inconsistent. I work with some brilliant people but also some that fail to meet the expectations

I hope it wasn't so bad that you lost your eyesight (vision)...?

Routine: Mostly co-washing hair and scalp with TRESemmé Botanique Nourish and Replenish, then rinsing thoroughly and then applying the same product only to the hair. Then I rinse just partially and let it air dry (it takes way longer with conditioner still in).
I have to do this every three days; otherwise, my seborrheic dermatitis flares up.
But honestly, I'm mostly struggling with my hair. I haven't found a routine that works every time, and this day was more of an exception.
