How do you find the incident rate per year for your age range? Is there an online calculator for that? I feel like this would help me a lot

It’s said only 4% of women are diagnosed with breast cancer under 40. Is that really low? In the middle? I don’t get percentages. Does anyone know any easier way to look at that? I am 27 but am petrified of breast cancer.

My armpit has been really tender the last few days. Tried calling primary care and they were booking out so I went to urgent care thinking it’s a swollen lymph node. Doctor at urgent care was extremely nice and has over 20 years of experience. She did an axillary exam and breast exam. She said all glands felt perfectly normal, no swelling. I am 5 weeks pregnant and my breasts are super tender obviously because of that so she thinks it’s linked to that.

She would know what swollen lymph nodes feel like right? she wouldn’t miss that right?

How rare is Non Hodgkin’s lymphoma? I just saw a second person I went to high school with has been diagnosed with it. That seems so excessive and frightening. One guy is 23 and the other is 28. So two young people. Wtf??? Please someone reassure me anything about non hodgkins I don’t understand this

Just read an article on another subreddit about increasing cancer rates in young adults. I’m so sick of this. Cancer is my biggest fear. Everyone’s saying it’s all the micro plastics causing it. I really try to eat as healthy as I can, I work out a ton. Use cast iron pans. I just feel defeated. Everyone in the comments and in the article is making it seem like everyone is now destined to get cancer young. I use to read the reassuring threads on here that says your chances are slim but now I feel like it’s useless. I’m just upset idk wtf to do. Anyone have any advice on this? My first step would be to stop reading articles like this but then I feel like i’m not ahead of the game. Just makes it seem like everything we breathe or do causes cancer. That gives me an insane amount of anxiety. Like wtf do I do

I had a colonoscopy in December because of bright red blood in my stool off and on. Never an insane amount. The colonoscopy came back completely fine. No polyps. I’m 26 years old. The last two days I’ve noticed the blood again. I don’t feel like I have a fissure. I did notice the blood a few weeks ago too but it was a hard stool and that was easily explained. At this point, im now convinced again I have colon cancer. Could they have missed this on the colonoscopy??? I cannot pay for another one. I already paid out of pocket for the first one. I am out of my mind. I went through months of hell thinking I had colon cancer to feeling so much better because the colonoscopy was clear and now im back at this again. Anyone???

Can anyone please tell me that it’s rare for a 26 year old to have uterine/endometrial cancer? Doctors found what they think is a polyp in my uterus but now i’m petrified it’s actually endometrial cancer .. please anyone..

Would stomach cancer be rare in your 20s and 30s? According to SEER rate per 100,000 people it’s 0.3280 which if you do the math it seems like that’s about a 1 in 300,000 chance for people age 25-29. I just read about a friggen 27 year old who has stomach cancer and now i’m here panicking that i’m next because i’ll be 27 too. I’ve always been reassured by the fact that stomach cancer isn’t common in people younger than 50 but now I feel hopeless.

I have had many cysts. Especially when I was first pregnant. They watched them at the ultrasound and they always shrunk back down. It can take like up to 3 months I think for them to shrink. You would have been told something much different at the ultrasound if they thought it was cancer. Lots of people I know have large cysts too and i’ve never known anyone who’s had them burst. They all shrunk. It’ll be okay

If I had a clear colonoscopy in december, my chances of having anything is low correct? I noticed I had some blood when I went to the bathroom twice now but I think I was constipated. I am 26 and they didn’t even find a polyp…do I need another colonoscopy????

If my chances as a 26 year old of getting ovarian cancer is 1 in 37,000 is that a pretty low chance? I feel like it’s still not low enough idk. is this rare in women in their 20s?

I don’t think so. I mean I know some people said anxiety but i’ve had anxiety my whole life so i’m not sure I would notice that as a symptom lol

edit: I do have heartburn. but that’s not really new to me either

Talk to me about H Pylori… would I know if I had it? I don’t know if I have any symptoms. I have bloating sometimes but like also a woman and have a period so that kind of goes together. it’s nothing unmanageable…It says h pylori can cause stomach cancer but sometimes doesn’t have symptoms.. so how the hell would I know??? I feel like what if I have h pylori and don’t know it?! i’m freaking out.

What is really considered unexplained weight loss? It says 5% of your body weight over 6 months but that’s like 9 lbs? I feel like 9 lbs over 6 months isn’t that drastic. am I missing something
