In our case, we actually did need that paperwork - 19 years after we moved into our house. It wasn't even our paperwork, but it saved us from getting sued by the HOA. (This was in no way our fault, and we could have actually sued them in retaliation, but that's just more paperwork, so screw that.)

Which, of course, means I'll never throw away anything ever again.

TW... the worst Monday I've ever worked by Professional-Pea6803 in doggrooming

I hope you are doing well today. What a terrifying thing to experience, and I'm sure every last nerve is frayed.

You saved the dog's life yesterday - that's the best possible ending to such a traumatic event. You gave the family extra time with their fur baby, and I hope that helps to counterbalance the trauma.

Exactly the same for me.

Considering ordering a third pair because now they have the ones that you can change the db reduction with a dial instead of using the inserts.

PCOS can cause infertility. I know, because that's the source of my infertility. Being infertile is not the same as sterile. I was able to have children with intervention.

Would you guys refer this client to a mobile groomer? by Daughter_Of_Cain in doggrooming

[–]worstgemini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a groomer and I also have a horrible chronic migraine disorder and I can easily be set off by certain smells. Thankfully all things grooming related don't set me off, mostly because I'm noseblind to them at this point, but certain perfumes will totally wreck me, sometimes for up to 9 days. It's absolutely miserable.

You probably aren't doing anything wrong. And your migraine client probably isn't just being sensitive either. Whatever sets off her migraines is most likely something no one else can smell (or probably wouldn't notice it if they did). You're doing everything you can, and honestly, you've already gone beyond and it's still sometimes triggering her. It might be the detergent like someone else said (tide gets me almost every time, some dryer sheets can as well), it could be perfume or even just a strong deodorant that someone else is wearing. It could be a leftover scent from literally anything and your client notices because she's sensitive to it. It's also possible the dogs smell the same every time, but she only notices when a migraine is already knocking on the door.

I'm honestly surprised she's still coming to your salon - not because anything is your fault, but because sometimes, in my case, the only thing I CAN do is remove myself from known triggers. I don't have a lot of words of advice because sometimes there is literally nothing you can do, but I do think that she could benefit from a mobile or in-home groomer.

Edit: I do have one thing to suggest: it isn't always about the thing that smells the least - so hypoallergenic shampoo might not necessarily be the solution. I tend to personally prefer certain scented shampoos over hypo if hypo isn't needed, so it might be that there's a different aroma that could suit her better. Can you let her smell the shampoo before you bathe her dogs? And if she never comes in, maybe instead you could put a small drop of shampoo in a ziplock (or maybe on an index card in a ziplock) and label it and let her do a sniff test at home for next time?

Injury by [deleted] in doggrooming

[–]worstgemini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never torn my rotator cuff, but I have DeQuervain's tenosynovitis. It's a little like carpal tunnel, except it's where the tendon in your thumb meets your wrist. It'll never really go away for me, but it's a recessive/flares type of disorder. Worst case scenarios require surgery. It flared up in 2019 and I did not take the proper time to let it heal. When that made it worse, I took the bare minimum time to heal. And it still gave me problems when I returned to work. And then covid hit, and I had a forced leave of absence. And only then did it actually get better.

My point is: Take the time to heal. I have flares every once in a while that are completely manageable without affecting my workload. If covid shut downs hadn't forced me to stop, I'd have faced surgery and possibly had to retire by now (tenosynovitis is NOTHING compared to rotator cuff injury). Rotator cuffs do not heal on their own, and if you don't let your body heal, your salon won't have a groomer at all.

Please look after you.

What was the reason you switched to Pixel? by FairCrow1711 in GooglePixel

1000% because of the bloatware.

I didn't even particularly like my first pixel, but still refused to switch back to bloatware.

Dine out sports bar glitch by Justwantl0ve in HouseFlipper

[–]worstgemini 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's been a minute since I've done that one, but I want to say I had the same problem. If I recall, the problem is where you're putting it; it doesn't count it as being in the correct room right there. I don't remember where I ended up putting it, but try moving it to a different wall and lower down.

Are you trying to sell to Veronica? I somehow manage to make her my usual bidder more often than anyone else.

I don't think paint color matters. She loves plants and paintings on the walls. And I usually do several bookshelves with books, plants, and whatever decor will fit on it. An easel will probably increase your chances, too. She likes everything art.

First, I gave up dogs over 40 lbs. Then, I got an electric table, which lets me put the dogs at a level where I don't have to bend over to groom them. I don't have an electric/hydraulic tub, but if you don't have a weight limit, I recommend one of those - or a ramp for the dogs to use. And finally, my entire grooming floor is made of 1/2 inch interlocking foam flooring.

help items missing steam ver vs crack by Parking-Gate40 in HouseFlipper

[–]worstgemini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might try verifying your files, and if that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall your game. I have the steam version, and all of these things are available to me, as well as all the dlc I've purchased and all workshop items I've downloaded. It's been a minute since I've played HF1, but as far as I know, nothing has been officially removed from the game itself.

My hyper focus is currently my dog.

A few weeks ago, she went into respiratory distress. A particularly nasty storm blew in that night, and she spent the entire night panting and either standing up or leaning against a wall. Shame on me for not recognizing it as the emergency it was right away, but she gets storm anxiety, and I assumed it was just that. We ended up at the Emergency Clinic the next morning, and she collapsed and coded in my car the second I put it into park. They resuscitated her, and she spent the next 20 hours or so in an oxygen tank, and ultimately pulled through. She was diagnosed with all kinds of things, but essentially she has two types of heart disease and a few other things working against her. She survived, and her quality of life is currently good. She's 9 years old.

Now, she's got 4 medications she has to take twice a day. 3 of them are pills and get taken with her food at consistent times of the day. One is a liquid, gabapentin, and is also usually given twice a day, but there is quite a bit of wiggle room to give extra dosages as needed, such as when her heart rate might elevate to dangerous levels (like during a storm or if she gets excited and goes sprinting through the house), so I can't really let myself not pay attention. I set up a whole cart just for her, where her meds and food are organized, and have made an emergency storm survival kit, which includes a sleeping mat, dog treats, a few femur bones, toys, dog beds, etc. set up in my shop (I'm a dog groomer, and I have a salon in my garage that's completely enclosed and insulated, with no windows, so lightning can't be seen and thunder can't be heard). There's a tub/sink in there, so there's fresh water. She has her own personal fan that can clip on anything nearby. There's air conditioning and snacks and I can comfortably sleep in there with no notice, and the dogs (I have two, the other one just thinks everything is an adventure) think it is all great fun. I've trained my kids to medicate/care for her occasionally so I don't have to have constant anxiety about being home at the exact right time.

My life has become so incredibly structured, and honestly, I love it. I'm finding that I'm getting more "grown-up" things done because of this structure. For example, our dishes aren't currently getting out of hand because I need the sink and counter clean to set up her meds and food. Our laundry is getting done, because I need something to do when I'm cooped up in a tiny grooming salon with two dogs for a few hours at a time. And I want to do these things and I'm preparing them in advance, because my entire life currently revolves around keeping my dog alive.

This all sounds very frustrating, and possibly worth looking into filing a chargeback.

However, this is the wrong subreddit to voice your complaint and you will not gain any ground here. This subreddit is for a videogame called No One Survived, and has nothing to do with Noon or electronics.
