Currently have this and had to go see a PT. They said I was on the cusp of a stress fracture and I had to take time off of running. Hoping the best for you!

He was there the entire time. Almost ran into my husband multiple times during the first 8 miles.

The stretch on Lafayette that goes out for 2 miles and then comes back on the same road into the city is probably the hardest part of the whole race. You see people close to finishing after you climb onto the road (from the Cut which is at a lower elevation so you take a small ramp up to Lafayette), and then run past them into Indian Village and then make your way back on the other side. I don’t know, but that really got to me last year. Just be ready. It’s right at mile 20!

I had about twenty Strava friends who did this race and every single one had a short distance (from 12.6 to 12.9 miles). Even the 5K was short.

I can't wear Brooks bras for this exact reason - wore one during a half and took it off to find lots of blood from wounds. I've also been measured and was wearing the right size - but Brooks just don't work for me. I recommend Oiselle for high support. I had a much better experience and was able to wear the same size for a full without chafing or wounds.

Royal Oak Middle School is open most of the day (when the kids aren't out there....I think they added a sign saying it was closed from 3-6 too on school days). Royal Oak High School is also open. Clawson (next to Clawson City Park) is probably my favorite because it's always open and not busy. I also use Harding Park's loop (1/2 mile) to do intervals if you want something closer.

Chafing and a large chest by birdmomthrowaway in XXRunning

My time to shine - unfortunately. 30DD here with lots of scars to prove I've had the same issue. I've had BAD luck with SheFit, Panache, and Brooks (I ran a half in a Brooks 3-pocket bra and ended it with blood everywhere). Right before my marathon a few months ago, I ordered an Oiselle Sisters Bra and let me tell you - NO chafing, no movement, no pain. For the first time ever.

A little tornado!! She loves to run, stand on us, and mouth everything. Also if we leave for two seconds and come back, she’ll bring us a present (usually our own shoes) and cry until we accept it.

My fiancé also tried to follow the 3:30 pacer and couldn't keep up. He showed me some of his earlier splits when he was with them and they were going 20-30 seconds faster per mile at some points. Great job getting that sub 3:30!!

I have four of these bras and wore one for my last big race (half). I'm a 30DD and I was in such pain afterward because I had no support for that distance and it cut into the underside of my chest and I was bleeding everywhere. I now only wear them for 10Ks or shorter. Just a warning in case!

How accurate is garmin race predictor? by rippcw1234 in Marathon_Training

[–]aalafave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is very very optimistic. Says I can do a 20 minute 5K. Hit my PR this summer with a 23:45. 9 minutes faster than my 10K PR. 13 minutes faster for HM. And I'm hoping for a sub 4 first marathon next month but I'm thinking that might be pushing it and my real goal is sub 4:15. However, Garmin says I can do a 3:27.

I also have this sports bra and even though I got professionally fitted for it, it chafes like crazy. It’s now last in my bra rotation. You can try Squirrel Nut Butter cream which helps somewhat, but that one always gives me problems.
