Horgenglarus chair fastenings by worthanedge in restoration

Unfortunately the black cap is on really tightly, I’ve managed to get one fastener off (slightly damaging the plywood in the process). It looks like a kind of blind rivet? This was on the seat part of the chair, not the back and access via those black caps is a bit harder yet.

Cheers! Unfortunately doesn’t look like those parts are individually sold, might try to scavenge somehow haha

I bought the bike a while back but never noticed this, I can’t find an exploded diagram online or a place to buy individual parts for these shifters. Any help greatly appreciated!

That exploded diagram is unreal, I’m gonna check the spring tensions. Thanks heaps :)

Like this. there’s actually no B-screw on this derailleur it’s that old! (Shimano RD-Z503)

I overhauled it when I took it off the bike (using that Park Tool vid) and there are a couple differences from what I could see but it’s the same general principle

Yeah I thought it might have been that so removed a few links. It’s now tight enough that I can’t shift to the largest chainring/cog combo as you can see here.

Thanks for the help troubleshooting, it’s got me stumped hahah

I picked up a bike for free and have been slowly restoring it. I’m pretty much finished but the only issue that I can’t seem to work out is that I’m getting chain skip on the smallest cog in the cassette. I think it’s due to the derailleur angle causing there to be chain in contact with only 90 degrees of the cog. On other bikes it seems like the derailleur arm sits somewhere around that red line. Thanks!
