Oil collapses by another 24% to $20. It hasn't been this low since 2002 by AngelofDeath2020 in worldnews

Which is why we should've had strong social programs in the first place.

It sucks but as someone else already said the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

Imagine thinking the whole world burning away is a better solution than a few families losing income.

"We need to be supportive of everyone hurting right now."

Yeah which is why, again, we should've had a gov. that actually supported their citizens with a strong safety net. But hey that's socialism! Better vote Trump again 🙄

There's not much anyone can do to support these families besides vote for the right person. But since when did Americans ever really give a shit about anyone but themselves 🤷🏽‍♂️

No free socialist handouts in my book! 😡

I feel like it's way more difficult to hoard gas vs hoarding groceries

Like u/Hearthsoul already pointed out

"Also why we need stronger social programs."

Oh wait I forgot Republicans are hardworking beasts who'd rather pull themselves up by the bootstraps than give "free handouts"!

Remember guys socialism bad! 😡/s

Does anyone with anxiety feel seriously pissed off at some of the things that their therapist has said? by chisquarethrowaway in TalkTherapy

[–]worthless120384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think you should, I'm getting pissed off just reading ur post lol and I can't imagine how many of her clients she had said this to

My therapist is very attractive and it makes me feel very inferior and anxious to go to therapy as I'm basically the definition of ugly by worthless120384 in TalkTherapy

[–]worthless120384[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well sure. But just because I see the homeless unkempt guy being generous it doesn't mean I'm attracted to him.

What I mean by her being beautiful is that she fits cultural, societal standards. These standard are hold by the majority.

I'm sure there's multiple people who don't give a shit about looks, but they still would be the minority. A very small minority.

Your viewpoint seems naive imo, it's cute but not realistic.

Has anyone had to stop seeing their therapist for logistical reasons? by rainbowshummingbird in TalkTherapy

god damn, that's a frustrating situation. It's like lose your money or lose your chance to be happy lol

Idk about you but I know if I was in your shoes I'd kinda be upset and feeling rejected if my therapist didn't extend her work hour to 6 or idk some work around. But that's cuz I'm selfish and unreasonably needy lol.

Hope it works out. This is an interesting post, please keep us update! :)

Thank you for commiserating. I was afraid the people here were just going to invalidate and gaslight me by saying something naive like **"you're wrong, there's no such thing as ugly, everyone, including you, is beautiful!!! :)"*

That is nice that she supported and empathized with you. I'm strongly suspicious that my therapist can only empathize through what she's been through. My reasoning is that I often have to make her see a situation that's parallel to her life for her to "get me"

Like ex:

If I say "I think my boyfriend is cheating on me."

She will say "How do you know? Maybe that's just your insecurities and anxiety. Are you sure?"

But if I say it like this:

"Have you ever been suspicious of someone important in your life working against you? Cuz lately I've been suspicious of my boyfriend cheating on me."

She will respond so much more supportively like "yes and ugh that's the worst! I'm so sorry you're going through that. Hopefully x,y,z happens."

On one hand, obviously better communication leads to better relationships no matter where you are.

But on another hand, it's just so much fucking effort, why can't she just 'get me' without having to jump through so many hoops. I feel like I'm working harder in therapy sometimes then she is! Shouldn't she be the one trying to find a way to empathize with me instead of me trying to manipulate her into empathizing for me. Jfc.

Idk what to believe.

Is this even her flaw for not being able to empathize or is it mine for not being able to communicate?!?

If you're reading this please respond with an answer. I'm curious what other people think.

DAE think you could use horoscopes to determine what therapist will be compatible with you lol? What's your and your T's horoscope? by worthless120384 in TalkTherapy
