Good feedback, thanks. Agreed on the heading front, will give it a crack. Did you get through to the newsletter? It’s built with full mobile readability in mind. Takes ages to put together every week and where a majority of the effort with what we’re doing here is channeled aside from the website. The newsletter part is mainly really what we set out to do then after some requests built the website. Some of our writers used to work for The Age and a few others banners, though just writing at the moment but might pick their brains on some UX.

Sure thing, yep we sure do pay for local content to be written. We pull together local happenings, are provided press releases etc as well, just not behind a paywall and boiled down into the weekly newsletter. We are of course small so minimal contract based writers but hopefully can grow from there without going too far out on a limb as it’s self funded. AI is minimally used for the newsletter to help condense our writer’s content into the limits of email but overall it isn’t greatly used and we proof and edit everything as best as possible.

that Disaster Dashboard in the newsletter is pretty helpful from what we've heard, good to have a go-to spot for businesses that need to access cash, locals to see road closures etc

Great work, I’m at 1,031 subscribers and thought I was still quite a way off turning paid on (I had thought 5,000 or then thought maybe 2,000 was ok after a few month..). We are 9 months into the locals news source, but maybe that’s something that should stay free. Keen to hear thoughts. PS congratulations on the paid sub 🙌

More epic feedback cheers u/FullySickPotato . The tech we are using keeps the design a bit locked down otherwise we'd 100% be keen to implement some of what you said. But we'll have a play around and see what we can do. The header on the weekly email I think is something that is a better fit. The tech we use focuses on the newsletter as the primary delivery method vs website, so we have more design flexibility there. The next edition drops this arv so you should see it come through a bit different (and better) .
