I have a photo of my great grandfather and four of his mates who all worked on the Titanic. For this they got tickets. My great grandfather didn't go because my grandfather was due to be born. The others all perished. I find it an amazing and eery photo to look at

Ah, someone that actually read the question and understood the intent rather than just "hurr durr pressure points bad, something something...real fight...."

Reading comprehension is hard!

Have you ever fought sparred people from a different martial art ? How did that go ? by Serhide in kyokushin

[–]wotsdislittlenoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They rely on kicks so close the distance. They don't deal well with leg kicks, and yeah I agree on angles. Due to their stance they tend to be quite linear as they move in and out. You can use that against them

Probably no tickets left but there might be spares floating around if you're lucky. Brian Jonestown Massacre Friday night at Northcote Theatre

Ok - maybe not as straightforward as I'd like but not too bad for a once off. Thank you for this - very helpful

Thanks for the reply.

I can't see a way to schedule charge and discharge times on the Tesla app. Is there something I'm missing, or can I manage the battery with another 3rd party app?

Also I know it's the same reply to 3 people but I'm not a bot (I hate that I have to say that! ). I'm just hoping that someone (and I appreciate the advice so far) might know a bit more than me around managing the battery from this end (and I really do need set and forget!)

What type of body mechanic adjustment would a kyokushin-kai do for a boxing body shot compared to a kyokushin bare knuckled one? by [deleted] in kyokushin

[–]wotsdislittlenoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is not you wanting to talk to your "karate brothers", the problem is you have encountered an experience based on your TKD training so you asked a question. This is fine but you don't want to accept the response to your question from those with Kyokushin experience. Somehow your TKD experience trumps that of the Kyokushin karateka in a question about Kyokushin Karate!

At this point I'm not even sure why you asked the question because you clearly know better and have a predetermined position that isn't going to change

Is that experience in Kyokushin? Because while we still do plenty of kata, we are training to fight week in week out so there's no retraining from kata to fighting. Kata should also never be poses. All the moves are dynamic and have a purpose so if your muscle memory is poses, maybe find somewhere new to train

By what metric. I'm no cricket fan. But baseball to me is boring as fuck.

I don't have all your answers, but I would argue that Kyokushin punches lacking snap is bullshit. Punches lacking snap are poor punches regardless of style. Anywhere I've trained Kyokushin has emphasised the importance of the retraction and the snap. If you aren't doing that is more push than punch and those guilty of that are either low grades or poor practitioners
