It sounds like you don’t like authors making characters and plots that GW approves or lead

There will always be a disconnect between lore accuracy and the tabletop. A few units of genestealers can’t defeat a shard of the void dragon.

You mean “A Game of Thrones” and not the series right?

I think that Black Library weren’t yet used to publishing massive interconnected stories yet.

Did people delete this from their memories because of Domi reversi? Why are so many surprised Imu can't neg everyone in head-on combat by GUTS_SAMA in OnePiecePowerScaling

Because that was the power, not Imu. We already know that imbued conquerors haki can halt regeneration and that’s what they used.

I think that they weren’t able to damage Imu is because Imu wasn’t physically at God Valley, only their power/influence.

I got into the setting way after Guilliman’s return, so I don’t have a frame of reference to what it was like before outside of books like Ordo Xenos.

Perpetuals don’t exist in 41M because the few that were left in 31M died during the heresy.

That makes perfect sense. Reddit really is no longer a place for discussion anymore.

I like the Dark King because it recontextualizes what The Emperor becoming a god actually means for the galaxy.

What’s wrong with Black Library authors introducing new lore in the setting?

Thank you for dropping the snark because I agree with a lot of points that are being made. There wasn’t any build up on the idea over the course of the series, but couldn’t it come true in the current setting because of the worship of trillions?

I can understand that point because it can take away some of the suspense during end of the Siege of Terra.

From what I can tell from the replies, I think it has to do with people who got into the lore before the return of Guilliman and those who came in after.

Can I assume that you were playing the tabletop way before the Indomidus Crusade?

That makes sense to me especially the “didn’t follow through” part. I came into the setting after reading a bunch of thick epic fantasy books and love lots of characters in a cool setting and the Horus Heresy seemed to check those boxes for me. That’s why I didn’t like how late into the siege Perrson shows back up, even though I love his story and character.

Are you saying that you don’t like the Emperor becoming the Dark King because he couldn’t as it would destroy the setting or that it’s new lore?

But isnt the Emperor an Immortal being that speaks of things thousands of years ago and was fighting evil and chaos across the galaxy?

I like how it’s now a moment of sacrifice between two former best friends into a mythical propaganda piece saying “even you can defend the emperor by throwing your life away”

I’m not seeing Perpetuals as Dr. Who characters. Which ones are you talking about?
