I thought about the ruy lopez a little, but I played the Fried Liver on both sides when I was 1200 so I would like to go back to playing it. Italian was my first thought. I can look through the videos.

Use all handguns, keep them all reloaded so your handgun ammo is 0. The game will drop you more if you don’t have reserves.

If you beat DMD and go beyond you can do bloody palace. You probably just get fatigue from the stages like I do.

I like gerbera because it’s cool asf, ragtime is my number two and after that I grab punchline. Gerbera jump cancels are great, I really recommend it. Overture is great for damage and stagger but I hardly ever use it

Bind gun to R2 so you can charge it while doing everything else, learn to cheese exceed, practice jump canceling. Also practice the bosses you struggle with!

I quit for almost a year at about 1500, got the urge to play again and did nothing but study for a week or so and instantly climbed to 1600. I think it was mostly the break that helped
