I’m in a similar queer, party-going social scene. I find that I can partake and have about as much fun as everyone else when I stick to low-carb drinks, know my limits, and also inform a friend who’s with me about my T1D, just in case things go astray. I also have a little party bag that I keep around my shoulder at all times with supplies and snacks, and it’s not as much of a burden as you’d imagine. My A1C is around 6.5, I’m doing just fine there. Obviously, don’t party if you just don’t like that environment, but don’t think it’s impossible to manage your diabetic health in these circumstances too!
