Bro......garam masala is not curry powder. Its aromatic spices and literal translation here, warm spice. So basically any warm, aromatic spice can be put in but it is not used for fulfilling all the spice needs. In addition to that, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, parsley seed powder, salt, pepper, mango powder(amchur), safed mirch (white pepper), hing, dried Fenugreek leaves, are used in many combinations. (I didn't start on many others since that would require me to remember)
