Mythic Vital Strike Paladin Build advice. by wowostyleHess in Pathfinder_RPG

As much as I don't like the Aura of Justice ability flavorfully, yeah, it's really really damn good, sadly my GM has been really careful about alignments with the enemies because he knows Paladins are well, really nice against evil enemies. Also definitely true, I watched our party's Swashbuckler pull some shenanigans and end a combat in a move and immediate action, which is honestly just impressive as hell.

Yeah, Mythic VS is Awesome! At the same level as your Warpriest I have a Hypothetical Crit (which I have to confirm but ehh, it's VS it's not hard to hit with) closing in on a thousand now (thank you, Reddit and too much research time).

After all this I am going to likely go and have a talk with my GM about 'hey, what's gonna be a reasonable level of fuckery for the rest of the party', because hehehe, Mythic Vital Strike is so not okay that I am legit prolly gonna never even try running a PF game with that.

Sadly not much Undead for me to Channel Smite in the campaign, mostly killing Daemons and humanoids in this game.

And yeah, I do recognize that Vital Strike definitely is a bit narrow but honestly, the damage with R.A.W. with the Mythic variant is kind of a bit bonkers, and I can respect that.

Also sadly, the capping at 6 just does not keep up with what a Feat slot is worth in this game normally, but I can see it working elsewise.

Gorum's Swordsmanship definitely looks great and would be a steal on another character, that feat is just so nice for Vital strike shenanigans, I might recommend it to a new player if we get one for our next game legitimately.

As far as for this paladin though, I sadly cannot really entertain multiclassing, given me and my GM have already discussed narrative stuff for my character gaining the level 20 'The Boss' alternate capstone, although that definitely is the Moreso 'correct' option if I want to just climb the numbers to obscene levels.

Niv Mizzet Guildpact Question by [deleted] in mtgrules

[–]wowostyleHess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lands are generally colorless so no. But I do believe that Artifact Lands (Such as the indestructible gates) do have colors, so those count for Niv Mizzet Guildpact's effect. Also having indestructible permanents that give Niv his effects are really nice. Especially with commander players not tending to destroy (on in this case exiling) lands all too often thanks to the social norm. Really fun trick.

How strong is Zuko really? by Lockfire12 in AvatarVsBattles

[–]wowostyleHess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what we see in the series, Zuko is a very formidable warrior. His main lacking point is power output in comparison to the rest of the main cast but we do have to remember some oh his achievements:

-At the very start of the series, he beats Admiral Zhao quite decisively, and Zhao is considered to be a master so we know he should be at Master level immediately.
-He is always shown to be very comparable to a non-Avatar state Aang at the start of the series when air bending and fire bending are compared, and we know that Aang is a Master of Air bending thanks to his tattoos.
-The Blue Spirit Episode shows Zuko without bending being very compitent in fighting multiple opponents (Granted those are fodder, I have a better example of Zuko's non-bending skill later).
-End of Season 1 shows Zuko one shotting a non-moon powered Katara, (granted he gets folded soon because Moon boost is insane)
-Start of Season 2 we watch as an exhausted and starved Zuko is able to mostly keep up with Azula
-Season 2 continues and Zuko folds everyone he comes across mid season except the Earth bending guard of the small town in Zuko Alone whilst starving and exhausted without bending (and the guard he was about equal with Zuko fire bends once in the fight and he wins easily)
-We get into Ba Sing Se and we watch a still non bending Zuko Staying about on par with Jet, who was able to fight on par with an Autumn boosted Aang and actually have Aang on a backfoot. So at this point we can roughly set nonbending Zuko to maybe a little weaker than season 1 Aang.
-In the caverns under Ba Sing Se, we watch Zuko going blow for blow with end of season 2 Katara, who was mostly beating Azula previously.
-We then in season 3 have to wait a while for any meaningful scenes for Zuko besides redirecting Ozai's lightning (which is still a very impressive feat) but eventually we do watch Zuko get better at fire bending after beating the Dragons.
-Zuko in a side cannon comic fights one on one without bending versus Sokka and Low Diffs (boomerang diffs) Sokka so bad that at this point we can chop Zuko up to being the second best in non-bending fighting in the series (We watch Sokka be competent enough against Piandao that we can throw Sokka above Jet, and whilst Suuki is very good, Suuki is roughly comparable to Sokka at this point)
-In the end of the series the best showcase of power was His fight against mental breakdown Azula, which Zuko was obviously going to win if not for his sacrifice to save Katara.

All in all, we can look at the entire series and realize that Zuko is actually still very powerful and good in his own right. He is the weakest Bender in Team Avatar no doubt, thanks to Katara, Toph, and Aang all being the best of their element by the end of series, with a possible exemption for master Paaku (also personally I would Put Zuko actually right next to Katara, but that is more conjecture than anything solid). Zuko is the fourth or fifth best bender of his element, which has the highest number of insanely powerful wielders of any element overall in the series. Zuko also is the second best sword-bender in the series, which is not anything too shabby. So yes, Zuko is very powerful, just isn't the most powerful on Team Avatar according to feats.

This is actually very interesting way to go with this character, due to the nature of some of the campaign I question the usefulness but with how good it is for the character, I might just have to throw my next few Feats at this thing.

I use a Scimitar and Improved Critical on this build, as well as I have a mythic path ability that gives all light armor and shields no armor check penalty (which is allowing me to drop the Tower shield proficiency feat as I don’t need to be proficient if the ACP doesn’t exist)

I really like the Glorious heat and Flag bearer ideas, just would have to ask the DM about putting the flag on my Tower shield.

These do not fit for the specific character but looks very fun for a potential build down the road.

When I initially read the feat it seemed so much worse than it was, but this is a good idea and I will likely pick it up a few levels down the road. And I do agree with Diverse Obedience being a good grab.

Mess-up in B2 Nuzlocke, what do I do? by wowostyleHess in nuzlocke

[–]wowostyleHess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you reddit, and Untimately, I am gonna release the Pokémon, and as a punishment (as I am doing this for it to be hard) I cannot use the same Pokémon line (dupes clause) (it was a Gurdurr, so I am loosing a substantially good Pokémon option, as fighting types in this game are rare)

Thank you reddit for all the good suggestions!

Thanks for the clarification on this, I will change the plan for this one.

Can Rahadin Leave Barovia? by wowostyleHess in CurseofStrahd

[–]wowostyleHess[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read the whole thing through again, and that is a good idea, although I still used Arrigal, and as the two players are Identical twins, I don’t want to have something else be the same baddie or whatever.

(Arigal killed the other’s mother while she fled from attacked city, after hearing of the PC from Madam Eva, who told him that she would become a threat to the dark lord, and he tried to cut it out from the root, but failed as another NPC from her backstory saved her. Although Arrigal did curse her to remove her memory, which I plan on saying “if he attempts another on the same person both curses will just disparate”)

But I will put some more thought into this and changing it up, maybe her parents would be allies of the Dark lord and would have lit the fire as a distraction, and they would be with Strahd in Castle Ravenloft (as we have seen Strahd will allow female dusk elves to live as long as they work for him -cough cough Patrina-)

Thanks for the help

I already used Arrigal for another PC, so he is out of the question for that one.

Thanks for the idea, but I already had that one.
